Summer To Autumn Transition: Why Do We Like It So Much?

Image
Autumn is a season that inspires many, and fashion world is no exception. I suppose there are many factors why Autumn is so popular with fashionistas. There is always that excitement about the start of something new. True, this is present when it comes to other seasons, but there seems to be something special about Autumn. Coming back to school vibes, the start of the new academic year, exciting fashion weeks and new work projects. It seems there is a lot to look forward to as Autumn arrives to our doorsteps. A lot of people welcome Autumn with sincere joy, and fashionistas are no exception. Have you ever noticed that? Have you wondered why that is so?  Is it the fact that we feel refreshed by the summer? Is it because sun exposure gave us enough vitamin D? Is it because we're excited about coming back from our holidays?  Vacations are fun, but a lot of people feel honestly happy to be back to their daily lives. Is it about the fact that Autumn fashion is simply fun? It i...

Inspired by Melody Jacob

Image
INSPIRED BY MELODY JACOB Time for another Inspired by feature. This time I have illustrated beautiful fashion blogger Melody Jacob. You can see the outfit that has inspired this fashion illustration here  . This is one a gorgeous bicolour dress, isn't it? As a lover of plaid and ruffles, I can only approve! Moreover, the combination of pink and red is always eye-catching. I also like the green heels and golden earrings, they both make for a great pop of colour. Such a cute outfit altogether! It was fun illustrating it. The medium for this fashion illustration is coloured pencils and markers on paper.  I have been following Melody for a while, but this is the first time I have illustrated one of her outfits.  Melody always features fantastic outfits and great photography on her blog. She also has great presence on photographs. You can check out her blog here if you're looking for some fashion inspiration. I'm sure you'll find yourself inspired. And tell me how d...

FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: ILLUSTRATING A BLACK DRESS FROM DOLCE & GABBANA AUTUMN COLLECTION

Image
Today I'm sharing a new fashion illustration with you. The dress I illustrated is a Dolce & Gabbana creation from Autumn/Winter 2018/2019 collection. Speaking of which, how did you like the collection? Are you a fan of this designer duo? This is not the only black dress from that collection that caught my eyes, but it's the one I deemed the prettiest. The black dresses from this D&G collection are definitely eye candy. In the past I have illustrated this brand a couple of times. If you want to see more of mine D&G inspired fashion illustrations, you can check out some out here and here . The fashion illustration I'm sharing today is a mixed media, coloured pencils and watercolour on paper. I prepared a few photographs of the 'making of' process and a short description of the drawing and painting process. Scroll down to see and learn more. On overall, I'm happy how this turned out. I'm even considering gifting it to somebody. It's neither a...

Fashion Illustrations of the day: Rihanna for British Vogue + Making of a Fashion Illustration

Image
Today I'm back with another fashion illustration of mine. I'm sure that for fashion lovers the image of Rihanna gracing the cover of September British  British Vogue is nothing new.  You've probably all seen it by now.  But you haven't seen my drawing of this cover (or maybe you did in my stories?). I think this was the first time I've ever illustrated a fashion cover. What did you think about the cover, btw? I obviously liked it, since I drew it and all. I do like this dramatic and theatrical make up look. Not something for every day, but perfect for that editorial. It was sure fun drawing this one. I drew this little illustration some time ago (about two weeks ago, I think). As you might have noticed, I've been a bit absent from the blogging world. Thank you for all of your kind messages. These past two weeks were a real challenge for me, but let's hope it all works out well so that I might return to blogging again. For people suffering from i...
