Plaything of winds (outfit post)/ Igračka vjetorova (odjevna objava)

 Plaything Of  Winds

Suffer without a tear, live without a swear,
and be peacefully unhappy.
Tears are vain, and laments
won't ease a troubled sleep.

Give yourself to the drunk wind of life,
let it whirl you where it will;
let yourself be spinned like a leaf,
in the mad whirlwind.

Fly like a spinning leaf caught by a gust of wind,
for flight, my soul, you were created.
It is not meant for earth, it is not meant for rest
a flower that has no roots.*

*Poem by Croatian poet Tin Ujević, translated by me

 Igračka vjetrova

Pati bez suze, živi bez psovke,
i budi mirno nesretan.
Tašte su suze, a jadikovke
ublažit neće gorki san.

Podaj se pjanom vjetru života,
pa nek te vije bilo kud;
pusti ko listak nek te mota
u ludi polet vihor lud.

Leti ko lišće što vir ga vije,
za let si, dušo stvorena.
Za zemlju nije, za pokoj nije
cvijet što nema korijena.

Tin Ujević, Igračka vjetrova

  7. That's a lovely blue dress Ivana and a nice poem too. I imagine that translating poetry must be quite difficult..?

    1. Yes, it can be quite challenging. I have never (so far) translated poetry professionally, most of translations I get hired for are about economics, engineering.... work manuals and etc.- nothing very creative.

I translated just the meaning when I translated this poem, I didn't try to transfer the rhyme in English so it was easier and didn't take me much time.

  10. Hello dear friend!

The truth is that I am not affected poetry, I find it hard to understand, but what I read I loved it.

Many congratulations on the translation, it is difficult to translate texts imagine that poetry is twice as difficult.

You look great in that blue dress.

One of the places that curiosity causes me is Boznia through your post've met some of that place and I really love to visit him at the moment is complicated, the economy in Mexico is not exactly good, so I will wait one couple of years to visit.

  18. Good choice on the poem. I chewed on a few of the lines with great interest. Famous poets have that certain something I can never land on but dance around at my best.

And then wow good gracious man oh man look at you in your blue-tiful dress :) That dress is an amazing fit on you! That very first shot, so powerful yet sensual, your gorgeous body on such display. That one alone was all I needed, made my night so incredible! It felt like a gift and I wanted to thank you for it even though that is silly I suppose. When I got to see the rest of the shots they were very lovely too, dear! I adore sneakers with a nice dress like that. So fun! I hope you have a wonderful day! What a great surprise :) xoxo

Highlights that lovely figure and shows off so much of your stunning legs. So exciting for me!! Picture 5 was the one tonight for me. You are so very lovely and even more than that so very kind! I will never again complain about a lack of bikini shots. Who needs them? :)

Wearing the First Dress I Ever Made: A Grey Midi Dress

Here it is: the first dress I have ever made entirely by myself. I did make some summer dresses in the past, but I had sown them without a pattern and a sewing machine and at any rate I wouldn't call them very accomplished. I mean, they weren't nearly as polished as this dress and they were not nearly as complex to make. I'm very happy with how this dress turned out. I'm even happier I took this sewing course in the first place because now I can make more dresses like this one! If you remember my November highlights post, you might remember that I've mentioned how I've recently finished a beginning fashion tailoring and sewing course with designer Stanka Zovko.

I promised to show you the dress I made for my course 'graduation'. At the end of this lovely sewing course, you get to choose not only what you're going to make, but also the material and the pattern.  The sewing pattern is typically chosen from one of the sewing magazines this designer has …

February recap / sažetak veljače

You have seen (more or less) what was February like for me. Now tell me... what was February like for you? Are you happy that it's already March or do you feel like time is flying too fast? Are you looking forward to the spring?

As far as blogging goes, it seems that I have became more focused on fashion illustrations. In the next month the illustrations will have their place, but there will be more focus on DIY....or at least I think so, because I'm kind of heading in that direction. Apart from that, I have no plans. I have so many ideas when it comes to what I want to blog about, that I often have hard time deciding what not to include. As always, feel free to write about what you would like to see.

How To Style Animal Print? + An Autumnal Fairy Tale at Ethno Village Near Medugorje

With winter at our doorstep, I think it's important to make the most out of the left over autumn days. With that in mind, my husband and I payed another visit to our favourite (still not officially opened!) ethno village in vicinity of Medugorje. I wrote about this eco/ethno village a number of times, so if you want to know more (or just see more photographs) feel free to check out my old posts herehereherehere and here.  Autumn is Herzegovina is always gorgeous, and this year hasn't been an exception. We had some sudden weather changes and drastic changes of temperature, but I would still describe this autumn as a beautiful one. The Sunday this photographs were taken on was rather gorgeous, so I'm certainly glad we went on this little trip. I know I'm repeating myself, but I do cherish moments like this. Every time I step into this little village, I feel as if the time has stopped or rather like I have just travelled in time. It's such a charming place! I h…
