Drawing of the day (portrait) / Crtež dana (portret)

Image
I'm not sure how I feel about this drawing.  I kind of like it, but to be honest I don't really see the resemblance with the person I tried to illustrate.  It is hard to find that balance between 'personal style' and 'realistic' style of drawing, especially when it comes to portraits. Although, I'm not quite sure I'm actually attempting portraits yet.  Maybe I should. Who dares wines:). I think I'll give this one another try, see how that works out. Over the years, I have worked on my drawing skills. Tijekom godina, radila sam...

A painting, an outfit and a DIY project (dark blue) / Slika, odjevna kombinacija i napravi sam projekt (modra)

Image
I love how this painting turned out. The medium is acrylic on cardboard. Speaking of acrylic, I have done quite a few DIY projects using this kind of paints recently. In this post, you'll see one of those projects.  I painted over a pair of old boots with a dark blue acrylic paints. The same paint I used to paint the hair on this illustration. Long story short, my old boots are now dark blue. DIY projects are always fun. For me they are often more about practicing our creativity then about the end result. Was it really sensible to use acrylic paints on low quality shoewear? No, it wasn't. In some cases (albeit not in this one, these boots were sadly overpaid ) the paints themselves cost more than the shoes. However, the fun element has its value and so does the opportunity to practice our creativity. Sometimes that is what we need. As Tijana said, sometimes we can learn from baby pandas (you can see what she meant by there  here ).

THE WORLD OF PENCIL (FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS) / SVIJET OLOVKE (MODNE ILUSTRACIJE) #2

Image
Two Spring outfits. Both of them drawn with a pencil. One is depicting a girl wearing an off shoulder midi dress and the other one shows a girl wearing skinny jeans and a blouse with bell sleeves (ruffled bell sleeves to be more precise). What both of them have in common are ruffles. Do you like ruffles? Do you plan to wear this trend? I'm a big fan of the ruffle trend. Perhaps it is because deep inside I'm a hopeless romantic. Dvije proljetne odjevne kombinacije. Obje nacrtane olovke. There's also some illustration done with coloured pencils.  Ima i ilustracija s bojicama.  ...

Inspired by....Matea

Image
Well, this is somewhat different than what I usually share with you in my Inspired by feature. As you know if you a follower (even a recent one), in this feature I tend to post my illustrations of bloggers. This is (as you can see) an illustration of a teddy bear. First time I drew one, I believe. Still, I felt like it belongs into this feature. Why? Because this particular feature is all about sharing what bloggers inspire me. It is about what I like most about blogging- the interaction between blogs.  That is why I have recently increased the amount of this kind of 'inspired by' posts. It doesn't mean that I will not at same point in future blog about others things. It just means that blogging interaction matters to me.  I love the fact that we can inspire one another. That is why I always leave links, so you can check out what inspired me....Speaking of which, this time I was inspired by an amazing project currently being run by Matea from blog Smile Snap Sparkle . ...

THE WORLD OF PENCIL- FRIENDSHIP / SVIJET OLOVKE- PRIJATELJSTVO (#1)

Image
I've been working with pencil a lot lately. In fact, with all the drawing I've been doing, it has come to the point where my right hand hurts rather badly. Not that it is a serious problem, I'm sure that my hand will recover as soon as I give it some rest. Anyhow, today I'm posting a drawing that I have been working on forever. I was trying to strike a balance between realistic and 'my style'. How did I do? I'm not sure. Some of you said you find the 'painting/drawing process' interesting, so I've decided to include 'before' and 'after' photograph, even if the difference in this case is a subtle one.  S U zadnje vrijeme sam dosta radila s olovkom. Zapravo, uza sve to crtanje došla sam to točke u kojoj me desna ruka poprilično boli.

Inspired by.... Margot

Image
This illustration has been inspired by Margot from I am every woman blog. The medium is pencil on paper. I really liked this monochrome styling with a touch of tartan print (on the collar and the cuffs of sleeves). How do you like this outfit?
