Jeans Worn Over a Dress (Outfit Proposal).
Today I'm back with another outfit proposal. Wearing dresses over jeans is something that I've enjoyed doing since high school. Lately, I've been more drawn to this look because I feel it is such a great summer outfit. The last few outfits I shared featuring dresses and jeans combos were predominately white, so today I'm going to share an all blue look. In this outfit I pared a blue navy dress with classical cut blue jeans and brown sandals. I think this outfit looks pretty cute. What do you think? It is certainly a very comfy summer styling. The location for the photographs is, as most of the time, lovely Mostar city.
Now that we got that covered, I want to apologise for my absence, I stayed in hospital a bit longer that I originally thought I will. I was only discharged from hospital yesterday. If you remember, I went there for an operation of my paralysed vocal cord, a procedure called tyhroplasty. I was admitted to hospital this Monday, but as there were some emergency cases, I had to wait for my operation until the day prior to yesterday. Unfortunately, the operation wasn't successful, that is, it wasn't possible to place an implant in my paralysed vocal cord, but I'm perfectly fine just feeling a bit sore as is totally normal after any kind of operation.
I will need to do another (different) operation in a few months probably this Autumn. Until then, my voice will remain as it was. The operation didn't cause me any harm, it seems that it just wasn't the right kind of procedure for me but there was no knowing it before I tried. These things happen and it's actually nothing terribly dangerous. If you want to know more about paralysed vocal cords and available treatments, I can always write more about it. As you know, I've only recently found out some things about it myself. Anyway, I will be catching up with your comments and blogs this week. I probably won't be able to blog daily, as I usually do, so it might take me a few days to catch up with all of you. I'm away from the city I'm normally based in, and I have to stay in a new city for a few days, to have my check ups and have my stitches removed. I'm actually borrowing the laptop I'm typing on right now. Thank you for your understanding!
Very clever stylization my dear! Such a great idea to wear dress with jeans :-) Have a fantastic weekend !
ReplyDeleteLovely idea! ;)

I'm sorry to hear that your operation wasn't as successful as it was intended to be! I'm glad to hear that you are okay and that it didn't get worse from the operation. Sometimes you just have to do what is necessary to feel and be your best! I have to say, I have noticed a lot more people wearing this outfit with a dress over jeans. I think it is much more European and way less American, thus I don't see it a lot in the states! I feel like a lot of people wear this in Itlay. I say this because a close friend of mine is Italian and she has been wearing jeans and dresses like this for as long as I can remember!

Your dress looks great over jeans! This is an outfit combination I need to try one day, I still haven't yet!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that the operation didn't go as planned though - hopefully your recovery and follow ups go well and you can return home again soon. I understand you trying to keep up with blogging - I did the same when my son was in hospital as it was a bit or normality in a crazy time, borrowing a laptop was a good idea, but remember not to tire yourself out too much and rest when you can! :)
Hope you are having a great weekend so far :)

Hey Ivana, hope you're enjoying summer days! I was off for a little time but now I'm back to the blogging world and ready to share more content with readers, as always I really want to thank all your constant support.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I am sorry to hear that your operation didn't go as it supposed to. Fortunately you're facing this event with the best attitude and even tho is hard sometimes we need to understand that there are factors and things that go out of our control, make sure to surround yourself with small things you love in order to do better: art, blogging, strolling around your city, etc. It is a small trick but it works in this kind of situations, trust me.
On the other side I'm happy to see that you're always playing with your clothes in order to try new things... Long life to jeans and the multiple ways we have to wear them!
Best and I'm gonna stop at the other posts I missed!

Hey Fungi Blog
Outfit perfetto.. adoro la tua borsa!!

DeleteYour outfit is making me nostalgic as I also used to be a fan of wearing dresses over jeans as well and now I'm inspired to do the same again. I'm so sorry that this last operation didn't give you the best results Ivana. Hopefully the next one will. In the meantime do continue to take good care of yourself. That's the most important thing. The blog will be here and so will your readers when you can post.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in high school I used to wear dresses like this, and now I feel like doing it again.
Tu sei deliziosa come sempre! :)
Baci!

DeleteOva kombinacija me je podsetila na drugaricu iz detinjstva (par godina stariju od mene) koja je prvi put nosila suknje i haljine preko farmerki, bila sam oduševljena! :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.couture-case.com
hvala, sjećam se da sam ja tako haljine prvi put probala u srednjoj školi i baš mi se dopalo.
DeleteSorry about the surgery dear. I wish you quick recovery. On the outfit, I love the concept of a dress over jeans it is beautiful. Kisses

DeleteDear Ivana, I'm very sorry your operation didn't work and you have to have another operation. I'm impressed that you nevertheless don't lost your optimism. All the best to you and that finally you will feel well again after this operation. Yes, I want to know more about your paralysed vocal cord. And about your look: I like it a lot. As you I think that denims and a dress are a perfect combination - only my husband has in this context a different opionion :)
ReplyDeleteTake care <3
