Summer is here! (drawing of the day + reading recommendation) / Ljeto je tu! (crtež dana +preporuka za čitanje)!

Today's fashion illustration is that- of a swimsuit! Very appropriate for this heat. What's your favourite thing about Summer? Is it eating ice-cream without a guilty conscience? That magical scent of Summer rain? Is it waking up ridiculously early, but instead of a cold darkness being greeted by a gentle dawn? Or is the way days tend to last longer, but still fly by so far? Is it the long evening walks? I know, I know...so many glorious things to choice from, who could name just one.

Današnja modna ilustracija je - ona kupaćega kostima. Vrlo prikladno za ovu vrućinu. Koja je vama najdraža stvar kod ljeta? Jedenje sladoleda bez grižnje savjesti? Čarobni miris ljetne kiše? Buđenje smiješno rano ujutro, a umjesto hladne tame tamo čeka  nježna zora? Ili je to što se čini da dani traju dugo, a opet tako brzo prolete? Ili su to duge kasne šetnje? Znam, znam...toliko toga se može odabrati, tko bi odabrao samo jednu stvar.

Summer. Wearing a one piece swimsuit as a top. Why not? Time when we get to feel like a queen of a jungle- even if the only jungle we have ever seen is a concrete one. Summer. Time when imagination roars wild. Summer. The smell of roses in city gardens. Summer. Daily visit to library.

Ljeto. Nošenje jednodijelnoga kupaćega kao topa. Zašto ne? Vrijeme kada se možemo osjećati kao kraljica jungle, čak i kada je jedina jungla u kojoj smo bili ona urbana. Ljeto. Vrijeme kada mašta divlja. Ljeto.  Miris ruža u gradskim vrtovima. Ljeto. Dnevni posjeti knjižnici.

Besides sharing this illustration, I would also like to recommend two books to you: Eva Luna by Isabel Allende and Selected Poems by Marina Tsvetaeva. I already wrote a book review for Eva Luna, you can read it here. I've been a fan of Allende's writing for a while (here is a review I wrote for another book of hers). I don't have a review for Marina yet, it might take me a while to write it. You can find some of Tsvetaeva's poetry (translated in English) on wikipedia here

  13. Summer's here already, we are facing another heatwave, mercury is climbing up to 98F. Well as long as the A/C is running fine, I am not complaining, at least not too much, lol. Another good illustration, Ivana.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

TOP CROATIAN DESTINATIONS: TROGIR CITY (PART 1)

Time for me to cover another Croatian top destination: Trogir. Yes, today I'm taking you to Trogir city. Trogir has one of the best preserved Romanesque- Gothic complexes in Europe. The city can boost with numerous historical landmarks. It has a high concentration of historical churches, towers, structures and a fortress. Literally, every where you look, you'll be beholding history.
This charming historical city is located on a small island between Croatian coastline and island Čiovo. It is located only 27 kilometers from Split city. Moreover, it's only a five minute drive from the airport Split. In fact, airport Split is closer to Trogir then it is to Split city. If you're visiting this area or landing to Split airport, don't miss  the chance to visit this little city. You won't regret it, I promise. If you want to see how this place looks like in summer time, feel free to visit this Trogir travel post of mine.

CROATIAN FASHION WEEK: MATEYANEIRA FASHION ILLUSTRATION IN WATERCOLOUR

I can't really attend fashion weeks because I work full time, but with the help of the internet I get to follow fashion weeks digitally. One of the benefits of living in digital times, I guess. If you remember, I have already shared a number of fashion illustrations inspired by  spring/summer fashion weeks on this little blog of mine ( Valentino Spring Collection 20191 & 2, Zuhair Murad Spring Ready To Wear 2019 collection1 & 2Louis Vuitton Spring Collection 2019 ). Please don't click the links to buy the illustrations, they won't lead you anymore as my art store was lost and it will take me a while to manually remove all the links (I'll explain this later on in this post, for now let's concentrate on positive things like this cute new fashion painting I'll share with you and the design that inspired it).
I was a bit late with catching with Croatian fashion week because I've been busy with work. About a week or so ago, I finally found the time…

TROGIR CITY (PART TWO): KAMERLENGO CASTLE AND OTHER SIGHTS

KAMERLENGO CASTLE AND FORTRESS

As I promised in my last post, my description of  wonderful Trogir city continues. Today I'll show you the city's promenade, its walls and a historical fortress Kamerlengo. We'll start with the latter, as it is one of the main attractions. Castle and fortress Kamerlengo was designed and constructed in the fifteenth century by a local Croatian builder and sculptor known as Martin Radoj. Martin also worked on some of the Gothic elements of Trogir city cathedral and later on in life he was entrusted with the construction of Trogir port. The fortress was commissioned by the Republic of Venice, hence its name 'camelengo ' that is an Italian version of chamberlain. I didn't go inside of  Kamerlengo fortress this time because I've been there before so I just enjoyed observing it from the outside. Besides the Kamerlengo castle, today I'll also show you the city walls and other details from Trogir. Enjoy.
