August (summary) / Kolovoz (sažetak)

I ended up posting more art than outfit posts last month and I'm glad it turned out that way even if I didn't really plan it. I posted illustrations, paintings, drawings and sketches. You got the chance to see a lot of  stuff I've been working on  in August and maybe that will be the case in this month as well. Or maybe not, I can't tell yet. I'm really happy that I'm managing to keep my 'Inspired by' feature because it is really one of my favourite ones. I've been illustration fashion bloggers for a while and I plan to keep it up. Besides that regular feature, August has mostly been marked by my experiements with using make up for painting. Sadly, my make up art days are coming to an end because I'm running out of old make up to paint with.

Ispalo je tako da je puno više objava bilo umjetničko nego modno prošloga mjeseca, ali drago mi je što je tako ispalo, iako nisam doista ništa planirala. Objavljivala sam ilustracije, slike, crteže i skice. Već dugo ilustriram modne blogerice (zasada nijednoga blogera) i planiram s time nastaviti. Osim toga, kolovoz je bio u znaku moga eksperimentiranja s korištenjem šminke za stvaranje slika. Nažalost, moji dani slikanja sa šminkom privode se kraju jer ostajem bez stare šminke s kojom bi slikala.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

As I mentioned in one of my last post, I'm already thinking about what I might wear for all those festive occasions that are coming up. Autumn and Winter both have its fair share of festivities. Our social calendar can be quite busy this time of year with all the meetings, events, festivities, celebrations, family and work parties. Some of these social occasions come with a black tie dress code, so I decided to prepare some outfit ideas.  A bit of formal wear inspiration for  my readers. All of these photographs were taken the day before yesterday. We're enjoying a rather warm Autumn in Herzegovina but these outfits I'm sharing can be easily be adapted for colder weather. Just throw a warm coat or a blazer over them, and that would be that.  That's what I plan to do once it gets colder. Anyhow, all four dresses I'll be sharing with you today are from Rosegal. This is my second collaboration with this site, if you want you can have a look at my first one here. With…

Fashion Illustration Friday: Inspired by Colours of Autum

Time for another Fashion Illustration Friday talk. We'll talk autumn and share some new autumn inspired fashion illustrations & outfits. Autumn is a season with one of the most beautiful colour palettes. Just think about all those gorgeous gold and red leaves! Even the fruits of Autumn are visually stunning, for example the delicious and juicy fruits such as pomegranates and grapes. With so much to appeal to our senses, it's hard not to be appreciative of autumn. It is a stunning season indeed, so small wonder I was inspired to create some fashion art. Scroll down to see and read more.

Besides enjoying the colours of autumn, I sure love wearing colour in autumn, and that's what I'll write about today. Whether we're talking about accessories or clothes, a bit of colour can take us a long way. Here are some illustrated & photographed colour combos to consider.

Is it too early to start reaching for those festive …

I was thinking about why I like tartan pattern so much, when one reason crossed my mind. I figured that it probably has something to do with the history and the culture behind this particular pattern. After all, I always say that traditional and folklore clothing (be it original or reproduced) carries additional value. Traditional patterns can be such an wonderful source of inspiration. Traditional patters have soul to them, one might say. The history of tartan is particularly interesting. Today we mostly associate tartan with Scotland, but according to some historians, tartan like fabrics were used by ancient Celtic populations spreading across the British Isles as early as the sixth and the eight century BC. Well, that one old pattern for sure! However, even if tartan clothes are really as old as ancient Celts, it is the still Scotland that is responsible for tartan we know today. Did you know that different tartan patterns can represent different Scottish families? Something like …
