Versatile blogger award

Thank you dear Shaira ( from ) for nominating me for the versatile blogger award. I already did this once but what the heck once again won't hurt. Do check out her blog here!

Here are my seven facts:

1. I cried like a baby while reading The Autobiography of Martin Luther King Jr. Sure there were other books that made me cry, but this one especially so....Every chapter tears were flowing down my cheeks and despite that (or maybe because of that) I really took time and effort to read every single sentence with attention it so rightfully deserves.

2. As far as I can remember, I was always drawing and sketching. This blog didn't change that but how would I ever got into making personalized fashion illustrations  without it? You fashion bloggers always inspire me...and  for that inspiration I'm quite grateful.

3. I'm totally a foodie. I love everything about food...Preparing it and eating it in equal measure. I even immensely enjoy decorating the dinning table and do it almost every day. My decorations often match a theme of the dish and naturally I make them myself. For me, every meal is a special occasion. Amen to that!

4. Sf geek all the way and not afraid to admit it...I worship Heinlein, Asimov, Zelazny, Hebert and Ursula K. Le Guin.  I once read about a girl breaking up with her boyfriend because he tried to move her sf collection from a very prominent place in their home and even worse to replace them with classics. I think my reaction would be the same. Dump the man that messes with your books is the only right thing to do!

5. I have quite a passion for recycling stuff, sometimes bordering on obsession. A kitchen appliance (i.e. whisk) gets broken? It need to get turned into a necklace. ASAP. Husband says whisk metal was made so it can't me bend. I would beg to differ.

7. My imagination is quite wild.  I basically never get a good night sleep. If it is not insomnia, than it is nightmares. However, at least they're aesthetically pleasing and sometimes even fascinating nightmares. They're upper sides to having a really busy mind, for example, inspiration always comes easily for me, but there are also down sides and quite often I wish there was a shut down button somewhere in my head that I could press.

7. I love nature photography. Quite often I take photographs when I'm hiking. They almost never appear on the blog. Well, I can't find a place for everything on this little place of my own, can I?

Now, the rules state I should nominate 11 bloggers but I think I'll just let you tag yourself if you're interested. I would love to know your seven facts.

  1. nice!~

  2. You have quite an interesting mind, different from most of the others who are interested in fashion :)) I already understood this before, but here I see you're quite intellectual, practical AND and artist!!!!
.......think I don't qualify, until they reached their final destination in special book-chests I constantly moved my husband's books (and mine) according to the mood. Confess I even put them in order according to size once....:lol

  3. Martin Luther King was an extraordinary man! That's awesome that you find ways to recycle and reuse things. More of us need to do that. I love eating food but not preparing it. HAHAHA

  4. what a nice tag! ove the drawing and the paintings :)
    see you on: ♥♥♥

  6. You deserve every award, dear :) I can never figure out who to nominate in things like this either, it makes me feel awkward so I do not actually enjoy the award. Like a chain letter. Very cool and cute facts. I have a very active mind too, always shooting off in a thousand directions. The only difference is, once asleep it pretty well shuts down, I rarely dream. xoxo

  7. Beautiful post, really interesting...thx for sharing!

  9. Aww very interesting facts dearest! I love drawing and sketching too!!! and I easily get affected by the books I read too dear hehehee especially when they inspires me so much! Congratulations on your award love! Have a wonderful day! :)))

    love lots,

  10. Marvellous, congrats doll, well deserved :) I love Martin Luther King Jr. as well, he was an exceptional man, who did great things!! I wish more were like him :) Your art work is marvellous and you have a great talent for it too :)) Happy Thursday doll, I hope you have a wonderful day xx

  11. What a great read, I love finding out about the woman behind the cool clothes! x

  12. Volim ovakve postove, tvoje činjenice su mi posebno interesantne :) Potpisujem deo o spavanju i snovima, isti slučaj :/

  13. Dear Ivana, you are really a wonderful and absolutely talented woman! Your mind is so full of thoughts and you have also tons of skills. Although I'm really sorry for this fact I'm not astonished that you have seldom a good sleep. I think a mind which is as busy and active as yours can't even stop in the night. No wonder that you are dreaming in that way you described! Thanks a lot for sharing these interesting facts and for sure congratulations to the award. And I'm 45 but I'm sure you knew it already :)
Happy Thursday evening, dear Ivana, you are a true enrichment to this world.
    xx from Germany/Bavaria, Rena

  14. Congratulations on the well deserved award Ivana! It was fun to learn more about you! I can imagine the Martin Luther King biography being very moving as he was such an inspiring figure who did so much during his life. I'm a foodie too. I'm always thinking about what to make for dinner and I actually plan my activities around where I want to eat :)

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

My fashion illustration of the day + book review / Moja modna ilustracija dana + ogled knjige ( Le Diable au corps) 6.12.2016

This morning I read an amazing novel. Le Diable au corps (translated as The Devil In the Flesh) is a novel by Raymond Radiquet. Believe it or not, this was by first book by this French writer. I don't think I even heard of him before, which is odd, but well, it happens. In his time, Raymond was quite a celebrity and he is still considered as one of the important French writers of that period. Did I like this novel? Quite frankly, I loved it. I just couldn't put this novel down. I must have read it an hour or so. I got up a bit more earlier this morning so I actually had time to read it with my morning coffee (it is not a very long novel but still it is amazing how easy it was to find one's self glued to those pages). Perhaps I should make it a habit, getting up more early so I can read more.
Jutros sam pročitala divan roman. Đavo u tijelu  (naslov izvornika Le Diable au corps) je roman Raymonda Radiqueta. Vjerovali ili ne, ovo je moj prvi roman ovoga pisca. Mislim da nika…

Fashion illustrations of the day (markers)

Hello darlings! How are you? Can you believe that February ends today? This month has just flown by. I know it's the shortest month in the year but still. Today I'm going to share 3 fashion illustrations and sketches with you. The medium for all of them is marker on paper. I don't work with markers that often, but sometimes it is good to try something different. The fashion sketches I'm sharing are all about 3 colours: purple, green and red. Spring is in the air, so this is my reflection on all those trends for the new season. The first illustration shows a girl wearing a purple and blue jumpsuit. The second illustration features a girl wearing a transparent green dress with a top and a skirt under that dress. The third illustration shows two girls in red gowns.

February Recap (art & DIY projects & outfits)

I've put a lot of effort into blogging this February, I hope it shows. As far as the content goes, February was similar to January, mostly a mix of my illustrations and outfit posts (here). This month I was full of positing ideas and I managed to make many of them happen. I feel pretty good about that. The only thing I feel bad about is making my blog monolingual and not using my other languages, but translating texts from English to other languages takes such a long time. It is so much easier to just write in English.  Hopefully, I'll manage to change that and make my blog multilingual again. I need to organize my time better. Fingers crossed. For March I already have a few posts prepared. You can expect more art (mostly fashion illustrations) & outfit posts.

I shared two DIY projects in February, one about making a Barbie dress, the other was about how to paint a plant container. I don't have any DIY projects prepared for March, but I'm sure that I…
