one location, two outfits / jedno mjesto, dvije odjevne kombinacije

Image
It has been only a few days since the temperatures have been as high as 40 degrees and all it took was a little for temperatures to suddenly drop...and  for me to finally smell the autumn in the air. Browsing trough some old photos, I have realized that this probably a good time for another "one outfit, two locations post".  This eco village near Međugorje is still  under under construction as it was months ago when I posted about it. As for outfits, they were both worn on sunny days, just one of those sunny days happened to be during winter.  I liked the contrast between the summer hat and  woolen beanie...makes me think of passing time...and of things that have changed in the meantime.

island Hvar /otok Hvar

Islanders' Ballad We live from the sea, nets and knots Counting the blisters made from the oars and hoes  our eyes red from the nights and the tears our workers' hands as hard as stone We're beaten by the storms and the rains and every day bend closer to the ground and yet more than anything, more than any beauty we love the sea for as long as we live Our blue sea, you know all our desires You are our streght, our joy, our entire life We're counting the sails and the steamships, our days passing with northern and southern winds, the barren earth gives what it can give, Life on the island is both sorrow and joy... (*song performed by Vice Vukov, written in Dalmatian dialect, translated by me) Bodulska balada Živi se od mora, od mriža i uza Brojidu se žuji od vesla, mašklina Crljene su oči od noći i suza Žujave nan ruke su tvrde ka stina I tučedu nas nevere i kiše I svaki dan smo zgrbljeni sve više Ipak...

sunny day (outfit post) /sunčani dan (odjevna kombinacija)

Ivan Galeb once said that he would like to die during a sunny summer day. Well, these photos that I'm sharing were obviously taken on such a day.  Don't we just feel at ease when the sun is caressing us? Ivan seems to know what he was talking about even if he wasn't an actual person, but a character in a novel. Having  been obsessed with literature and reading for the longest time, that fine line between reality and fiction sometimes evades me and the characters in the novels seem as real as the person standing next to me. Anyway, I have decided to translate a passage from novel Proljeća Ivana Galeba ( The Springs of Ivan Galeb, it's not translated as far as I know)  and share with you these words that  Desnica (the writer) or Galeb (the character) said :  "I want to die in a day filled with sun. The core of that little secret I have carried in myself since childhood. What scared me most about death,  is the dark it is associated with. I admire ...

How to braid your hair?/ Kako uplesti pletenice?

Image
Braids have been fashionable for a while. I already did one similar video, presenting one way to braid your hair and some of you asked for more, so today I'll share some photographs for inspiration. This classical and some would say traditional hairdo is suitable for almost any occasion. Plus, it is really easy to do. Learn how!

There isn't anything particularly fun about four hours bus drive but the view alone would make it worth it. That moment when you leave the mountains and see the sea somewhere around Makarska...breath- taking view...Now, if only the window glass on the bus was spotlessly clean I'm sure I'd be really happy with these photos. Well, you cannot have everything right?
