All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
Hello, there! In this post, I'll share some of my hiking experiences on Malta island. I visited Malta a few years ago, but besides sharing one oil pastel sketch drawing , I haven't blogged about my visit at all. I guess that the time to talk about Malta has finally come. Today is the first of May and that means that as an educator I have a day off. Yes, I don't have to go to work. So, I have some time to put this post together. While I was pondering what to start with, I decided that I should do a Malta series. I might as well since all I wanted to write about definitely won't fit into a single post! What should I open my series on Malta with? Well, I opted for hiking. One of the things I enjoyed most while visiting Malta was hiking. I hiked both alone and with my friend. Today I'll share photographs from a hike we did, exploring Malta's fascinating landscape and cliffs. I was both surprised and delighted to see these cliffs. It's something I would expe
Hi, there! In this post, I'll share some of my fashion illustration sketches. It's nothing too ambitious, basically just a few drawings I made recently. It's been a while since my last Friday Fashion Illustration. Fashion Illustration Friday used to be a regular feature on my blog, but the fact that all art posted online automatically gets stolen by AI put me of from posting my art, even sketches. I still do commissions and sell my art from time to time. I have some commission orders that are waiting for Summer when I'll have more free time. Art is still a part of my life, I just don't post about it that much. I mean I don't do art full time, but I try to make time for art in my life. Sometimes a five minute sketch is enough to breathe some inspiration into our life. At the moment, five minutes is sometimes the best I can do. MORE POSTS FROM THIS CATEGORY: FRIDAY FASHION ILLUSTRATION: SPRING STYLING 2023 Let's TALK illustration. Sometimes I illustrate i
With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily. The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I&
Hello! Today I will review Damen kapric, a novel by Ankica Topić, a Croatian author. If I'm not mistaken this was my first read from this writer. Ankica Topić is from Makarska , so from the same region in Croatia as yours truly ( Dalmatia ). I'm mentioning the region because it is relevant to understand the novel's humour. As in most other European countries, in Croatia you will find cultural and linguistic differences between regions, something that is often used for comic effects in books, TV shows and movies. In this particular novel, the author often contrasts Croats from the South with those from the capital (that is continental Croatia). Damen kapri c is a wonderfully funny novel that starts of as a family comedy with elements of romance, but soon turns darker and evolves into a mystery of some kind. An interesting novel for sure. I'm not sure is an English translation available yet. The novel is named after a (possibly Hungarian?) cake. I wasn't abl
Hello! Not too long again I shared my review for science fiction classic Solaris . Well, I ended up liking that novel so much that I had to explore Lem's writing more. So far, I have read four Stanislaw Lem's novel in total. Today I will review two novels by Stanislaw Lem: Eden and The Invincible. I decided to review them together because Eden and The Invincible are in some ways similar, so I thought it would be interesting to compare them. Before I get into more details, I'll do a short comparative review of sorts. How are Eden and Solaris similar and how are they different? Both of these novels explore a similar theme: a crew of a spaceship exploring an unknown planet and finding themselves in peril while they do so. Moreover, both of these novels feature characters debating their situation and trying to find an answer to the mystery of unknown. As they try to make sense of things, we can see character's points of views. One thing I noticed is that Lem's char
I'm back with another post from Malta! In this post, I'll share more hiking tales from the stunningly gorgeous island Malta. In case you missed my first post about Malta, I'll leave the link below: VISIT MALTA WITH IVANA- HIKING TALES- THE CLIFFS (PART ONE) I spent a lot of my time on Malta just hiking! No wonder I loved my stay there so much. How lucky was I! Not only did I get to visit this utterly gorgeous island, I also got to hike it for hours. Moreover, during my hikes, I felt like I was able to connect with Malta on a deeper level by exploring it with calm and patience. As I said, I visited a friend on Malta, so I stayed with her. At that time, she was renting a rather lovely home from an old granny. It wasn't a touristy place, and it was about thirty minutes bus drive from Valetta. While she was at work, I would typically hike around. Every day I hiked a bit further apart. It was great fun getting to know Malta better this way. Hiking and exploring Malta by
My Sights to see, places to visit feature would surely be missing something if I didn't include this little village Goranci in the list of places to visit. This charming little village is situated in the vicinity of Mostar. I love to go there to espace the city heat. If you are into cycling, you'd be happy to hear that you can rent a bike for free. You just need to leave your ID in the restaurant Goranci and you can take the bike. There is a wonderful cycling and pedestrian walk so be sure to check it out. As of recently, there is also a beautiful park at your disposal. This park is growing daily as new things are added to it(toys for kids and that sorts of stuff). If you look closely, you'll be able to see that some decorative trees are still being planted at the enterance to this park. You can read some of my previous posts about this village here , here and here . Moja rubrika Znamenitosti za vidjeti, Mjesta za posjetiti ne bih bila potpuna bez Goranaca, malog
This lake you see is artificial in origin but that doesn't make it less impressive. If you ever visit Mostar, I recommend you visit this lake. It is situated in the vicinity of the city. Peaceful and serene atmosphere, birds and other animals to observe, beautiful nature, magnificent mountain views.... ...what is there not to love? ...Što bi se tu moglo ne voljeti? hat/ šešir: old+DIY, dress/haljina: no name, block heels/ cipele s debelom petom: Naughty Monkey hat/ šešir: old+DIY, dress/haljina: no name, block heels/ cipele s debelom petom: Naughty Monkey
Hello! In this post, we shall explore, Valletta, a city of incredibly rich history. Besides it being the capital of Malta, Valletta is one of the most concentrated historical sites in the world. Simply a dream place for a historical lover like myself. Apart from being a historical landmark like no other, Valletta is simply amazingly beautiful. VALLETTA! THE BEAUTY, THE STRENGHT AND THE HISTORY During my stay in Malta, I visited Valetta a couple of times. My first visit was my friend Ivana, who was simply an ideal host. She was my guide and showed me a around. We've had such an amazing time strolling Valletta together. My other visits to Valletta were by myself. I strolled around the city and marvelled at how beautiful it was. I remember having an espresso by myself in a small cafe. Everyone called me 'mademoiselle' for some reason. Maybe they thought I was French. I get asked if I'm French sometimes, I think it's just something that people say when they can't
