A HOT SUMMER IN MOSTAR CITY (NINE FEMININE AND COMFY OUTFITS )
Hello readers and fellow bloggers! Today I'm back with nine feminine summer outfits I wore in Mostar, Herzegovina. If you're looking for some summer fashion inspiration, you've come to the right place. If you're looking for sustainable fashion tips, this is a pretty good place for you as well. I haven't bought anything new in quite some time. All these summer outfits are examples of me shopping my closet (as the links you'll find below can easily prove).
Honestly, having a fashion blog can be very useful if you want to make the most out of your closet. Having a visual representation of your outfits can do wonders for your fashion inspiration (and sometimes even for your self-esteem). It might not work for all, though. I remember some fashion bloggers complaining that having a blog made them want to buy more clothes, but on me it had a completely opposite effect. I was never keen on fast fashion, but having a blog has definitely made me more fashion sustainable. I found a lot of 'green' fashion inspiration on the blogs I follow. I suppose that blogs can have a different influence on us all. Birds of feather flock together and ll that....
These nine outfits feature three pairs of shoes and bags. This summer I have been reaching for neutral shoes and bags most often. Besides fashion, this post shall feature locations in Mostar town. If you haven't visited Mostar yet, what are you waiting for? Just keep in mind hat summer in Mostar are extremely hot. Remember my post about dressing for the extremely hot summer in Mostar?
What to wear when you're feeling hot? This question is very valid one, especially if you happen to find yourself in an urban jungle of some sort. Indeed, I'm sure this is a question that often comes to our mind during these hot summer days, especially if you happen to find yourself in a city, where the heat seems to multiply with the amount of concrete cover areas.
Fortunately, there are ways to make our life easier. Besides the obvious answer- looking for the nearest city park to escape the heat, another way to minimize the unpleasant feeling of being overheated is by choosing our outfits wisely. The first thing to consider is the material of our clothes. Natural materials are the best options, but if you don't have any cotton or line items at hand, certain cuts can also be helpful.
For example, I have a pink vintage polyester dress that is very comfortable to wear in the summer. Polyester isn't the most breathable material, but you won't overheat if you choose a good cut for yourselves. Anything that doesn't stick to your body should do the trick. Think about all the breezy or oversize items you have. Choose A-line dresses or skirts instead of pencil ones. Naturally, some pencil skirts can be comfortable even in the heat.
Feeling comfortable is something that we all want to achieve and we can do it if we listen to our body. You will know best! Finally, think about colours. Black attracts the sun rays the most, white the least. Did you know that polar bears actually have black skin so that they can maximize the scarce sun available in the polar regions? Their fur is in fact not so much white as transparent and it is angled so that the sun rays hit the darker skin, not the lighter fur. Nature is a genius, I tell you.
So, long story short, to keep cool you should wear white and lighter shades and avoid black and darker shades. In the summer, lighter colours are the way to go, especially when we're talking about daytime. When sun is strong, wear lighter shades and colours to repeal its rays. Choosing the perfect summer outfit is a combination of colour, cut and material of your clothes as well as a pair of comfortable shoes.
...and a special thanks to my Mostar born husband/photographer!
I won't apologize for his post being a bit picture heavy, it is what it is. I try to make my posts as reader friendly as I can, but I'm no IT and SEO queen (maybe some day). I'm much obliged to my husband for taking all these lovely outfit photographs. I don't know how he keeps his endless enthusiasm for taking daily photographs of me, even after a decade of marriage and almost two decades of being together. Without him, I probably wouldn't many outfit photos. I certainly wouldn't have this many location photographs! He's he one who always remember to take photos at cute locations and destinations.
Speaking of Summer and travelling, where are you at the moment? I've actually just returned from Croatia. I plan to summer in both Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina. I have actually heard summer being used a verb in a stand up sketch only recently. Apparently there's an expression: "Where do you summer?" Do you use this expression? Or is it something more jet set? Anyhow, I decided to use this expression. I'll summer in my counties. I'm a citizen of both of these countries, so why not? My plans for the Summer are not fixed. I wouldn't mind spending it with people I care about. However, you never know what life has in store for you. How is summer treating you?
Here are my nine comfy summer outfit proposals.
OUTFIT NUMBER #1: A MAXI GREEN DRESS PAIRED WITH BROWN SANDALS
I wore this for a day of being a tourist of my own city. I strolled around Mostar city and I loved it. These platform brown sandals are surprisingly comfortable. No wonder I wear them so often!
HOW I WORE THIS GREEN MAXI DRESS BEFORE
If I'm not mistaken, this is only the third time (and forth look will be featured in this post as well) I have worn this dress on the blog. I have worn it more than three times, though. I remember wearing it to work at least twice.
THE GREEN MAXI DRESS
FIRST WEAR : WITH ITS BELT WORN AS A SCARF 2018
SECOND WEAR: WITH A HAND EMBROIDERED DENIM VEST 2020
This was my first impression of this dress: I wore the belt that came with the dress as a scarf. I think that was a fun way to accessorize this maxi! In addition, I accessorized this dress with a pair of earrings and a headband. This dress proved a good fit. I like the fact that maxi is really long, despite being medium size. Sometimes I worry when ordering maxi dress in M size because I'm afraid they might be too short for me, but this one fits perfectly and I can even wear heels with it.That's just lovely, because being 5 feet 9, sometimes it is challenging to find a maxi dress that is also a good fit with heels. The material of this dress is synthetic, which makes ironing easy but it also seems to wrinkle easily. I will probably only wear this dress for evening, because I think I will be too hot in it during the day (albeit a synthetic material might be just perfect when the weather gets a bit chilly). I do think I'll wear this dress often enough, and I don't regret ordering it. Any dress that makes you want to dance is a perfect dress for you!
THE BROWN SANDALS- READ MY POST ABOUT 53 WAYS TO WEAR A PAIR OF BROWN SANDALS
Remember these gorgeous trees? These trees were planted in 1889 to welcome Belgian Crown princess Stephanie and Crown prince Rudolf of Austria and to celebrate their visit to Mostar. You see, many villas in this street date from the nineteen century. This street with these two rows of these wonderful plane trees was named Stephanie Alle in honour of the visiting Belgian princess (today it is known as street of prince Branimir). I posed by their side in April as well.
OUTFIT NUMBER #2: A MAXI GREEN DRESS PAIRED WITH TROPICAL PRINT SANDALS
Next outfit features the same maxi dress dress, styled without a belt and with my trusted tropical sandals. I finished this outfit with a mini bag and a striped second hand scarf tied around it. I wore it for another day of being a tourist in your own country.
WHAT ABOUT THE LOCATION? BEAUTIFUL SPANISH SQUARE IN MOSTAR
OUTFIT NUMBER #3: A BLACK DRESS WORN WITH BLACK LEGGINGS AND NUDE HEELS
To be honest, I don't remember what was the occasion I wore this for. Probably for a date with my husband. We go on a date every day and night these days. We have to make time for it now that I'm taking a break from my workaholic days.

OUTFIT NUMBER #9: VINTAGE PINK DRESS WITH NUDE HEELS AND A BAG
People who aren't from Mostar often mistake this church with the city cathedral. I know I used to do so in the past. Like many others, I assumed it was the cathedral because it is so grand and impressive. This church and monastery are actually quite new. This church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is newly built because the old church dating back to the 19th century was completely destroyed in the war. It was rebuild in recent times and now it also includes a large monastery and a church tower. The church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul can also boost with an impressive library that contains 40,000 volumes of old and vintage books. This complex is a very imposing structure with its church tower that stands 107 meters tall. If you're not afraid of the heights, I recommend paying it a visit. The view from 107 meters is quite majestic. As you can imagine, the view from this bell tower offers an amazing panorama. There is an elevator that takes you almost all the way to the top, so you just need to climb for a little bit. Make sure you bring warm clothing, at 107 meters it can get windy. I'm not entirely sure about the admission price, I think I payed around 3 euros when I was there last. There is no fee for entering any of the churches in Mostar that I know of, just this bell tower.
Thanks for your sharing, have a lovely week...
