 Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you doing? Today I'm happy to share with you another book review and this time I'll be reviewing a famous classic: Bel- Ami, a novel by Guy de Maupassant.  Some of you might remember that I hold this French writer in high esteem.  Considered the father of the modern short story, Guy de Maupassant is possibly best known for his shorter prose works (he wrote about 300 short stories and is considered a master of the form). However, Maupassant also wrote three novels. I personally enjoyed both his stories and novels. If you remember, I devoted a post to his novel Mont-Oriol.  I've read an awful lot of Maupassant  (several collections of his short stories and the above mentioned novel) and I was always left wanting more. Classics do tend to make my soul sing, but some authors are still dearer to me than others and that is the case with Maupassant.  Hello readers and fellow bloggers. Another day, another book review. Today I'll be reviewing a book I finished yesterday: Ill Wind by Nevada Barr. I don't remember when exactly I started it (without making much progress) but it was a while ago, maybe at the start of this summer. I forgot all about it until the cover grabbed my attention yesterday when I picked it up again and thought to myself: 'Why not?' This was my first novel by Nevada Barr. To be honest, I haven't even heard of her before. I must have picked up this book in Jelsa, where there are these wood boxes for book exchange (great ideas if you ask me, all cities should have them). I'm glad I picked this book up. Ill Wind proved to be a lovely read. It's a murder mystery set in a national park. The heroine of the novel is Anna Pigeon, a park ranger. Hello dear readers and/or fellow bloggers! Today I have another book review to share with you: The Neighbourhood by  Mario Vargas Llosa . Like the last book I reviewed ( Blackberry Wine ), this too is a novel that I enjoyed but felt that it could be better. However, this time the author Mario Vargas Llosa (Peruvian writer and a winner of Nobel prize  for literature) was already known to me. Moreover, I'll show you the rest of my recent haul i.e. the other clothing items I bought in Ozz store (run by a local designer fashion designer Stanka Zovko). Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! Today I'll be reviewing a novel titled  Blackberry Wine by Joanne Harris. I'm quite fond of magical realism, but this was my first encounter with this author. I have to admit that what attracted me to this book was the beautiful cover. The author name (Joanne Harris) didn't ring familiar. On the cover, she was mentioned as the author of Chocolat . That did ring a bell. Naturally, I've heard about Chocolat the movie. Who hasn't? However, I have neither read the novel nor watched the movie adaptation (featuring Juliette Binoche and John Depp). Still, I had seen the trailer for the film enough times to remember what it was about generally speaking. So, having observed the cover and reading the blurb, I wondered what this novel would be like. Would wine play a similar role as chocolate in the other book? Would it find ways to human hearts? Would it be a romantic book? Would I learn something about French culture? Besides the boo
