IVAN ARALICA, GRMOVI DIVLJIH RUŽA (OGLED / BOOK REVIEW)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! I've read a stunning book and I want to share it all with you. I've shared many books reviews with you, so why not one or many more? In this post I shall review Bushes of Wild Roses , a novel by Croatian writer Ivan Aralica.  As you might have noticed, I'm quite fond of this writer. Presently in his nineties, Aralica continues writing and publishing. This book could also be considered a collection of short stories, but since these stories all focus on the protagonist of the novel Blaža, it makes sense to call it a novel. The framed narrative that this book employs works beautifully in the context of the story itself. Blaža makes for a fascinating female protagonist, strong and gentle at the same time. Her personality is rich, complex and layered, but she is essentially a virtuous person.  I found her very inspiring. Speaking of virtue, there is a didactic element to the stories.
