knit cap (beanie) / pletena kapa uz glavu
As far as I can remember, I had always loved wearing caps. It is the perfect winter accessory... keeping us warm, making us more stylish and sometimes even hiding a bad hair day. Beanies, however, I had accepted fully only last year when I had finally realized how useful they can be. A knit cap (also known as beanie, skully or tuque) was originally made from wool but now it is often made from synthetic materials. I'm fortunate to have a few made from pure wool (thank you grandmother!) In fact, I never purchased a beanie. I just found a few old ones in my closet, stole a few from hubbie's... According to wikipedia, booble hat (cap topped with a pom- pom) and knit caps with ear flaps are also considered to be beanies. Well, I have to admit I didn't know that. Knit caps with ear flaps I always regarded as typical winter caps and haven't thought of them as beanies (same goes for booble hats).
