FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: MINT BLAZER AND OTHER SKETCHES

Hello! Today I'm back with another post in my FRIDAY FASHION ILLUSTRATION feature. My last post was an art update. In this post I'll share more of my watercolour pencil sketches. Today's post will be a bit shorter (in terms of text) than usual because I don't have the energy to write a long post. For the last six months or so, my Chron illness has been giving me hell again. I don't see a point about writing about it every day, but yeah it looks like it's not getting better anytime soon. Today I have spent most of the day in bed. The pain killers only help somewhat, the pain is quite hard to handle at times. There has been a definite increase in difficult days (like this one) lately and at the worst possible time too. C'est la vie, as the French would say.  On the upper side, I have a lot of previously prepared posts, so I might continue posting even during this difficult time. Scroll down to see and read more.

NUMBER #1 A WATERCOLOUR ILLUSTRATION: A VINTAGE MINT BLAZER- This is a quick watercolour sketch of my outfit. I wore this outfit maybe two weeks ago, when it was still sunny and warm. I love this vintage mint blazer. If I remember well, it's an inherited item. You can see how I styled the long cardi I wore over the dress before here and the heels here

NUMBER #2: A QUICK WATERCOLOUR PENCIL FASHION ILLUSTRATION OF A RED COAT- This is a quick illustration I did. As you may have noticed, I love colourful outwear. Coloured jackets and coats are a great way to infuse colour into our autumn and winter outfits. I'm also a big fan of midi skirts worn with boots- see for example here. That's the midi outfit I had in mind when I illustrated this one.

NUMBER #3: A WATERCOLOUR PENCIL PORTRAIT OF A REDHAIR WITH YELLOW ROSES- Another portrait sketch I did. Another red haired lady with blue eyes wearing a blue top with roses in the background. I used actual yellow roses as a reference. I had bought some in a supermarket a while back. As for the lady I illustrated, she isn't supposed to be anyone in particular.

NUMBER #4: A QUICK WATERCOLOUR PENCIL OF A BRUNETTE- Another portrait sketch I did. This time a brunette with bangs and green eyes. I didn't really use a reference for this one either.

NUMBER #5:  WATERCOLOUR PENCIL SKETCH OF A GIRL WEARING A BLUE FUR- This sketch isn't finished yet or rather I didn't apply water to it yet. Maybe I will leave it as it is. I haven't decided yet. It reminds me of this illustration I did years ago. I did use a reference for this one, a photograph of a model from an old DM catalogue.

LEARN MORE  about painting on hardboard.  Before that I re-imagined my magenta coat as a dress and illustrated it that way in this post. I also illustrated a forest a little bit. Sometimes I like to make the location a part of my fashion illustration.  NOT READY (yet) TO SHARE A NEW SEASCAPE CANVAS I'M CURRENTLY WORKING ON

Today you can also see a glimpse of a new landscape canvas I'm working on. I'm not ready to share it yet (so I have hidden it with help of photoshop), but hopefully I will be soon. This landscape has taken a ridiculously long time to finish. In fact, I'm not sure is it finished. It was nice to do some sketches while I'm taking a rest from this very ambitious seascape.

I always love seeing your fashion illustrations, Ivana, and this time my particular favourites are the one of your own outfit including the mint green blazer, and your watercolour pencil portrait of the red-haired girl with the yellow roses. 10. Sweet soul, from one long-time chronic illness warrior to another, I am truly sorry that this year is being especially rough to you on the health front (it has been for me as well, including with some vexing, profoundly difficult new medical issues that arose over a year ago now and which I am still fighting tooth and nail to get diagnoses + treatments for).

It is my unwavering hope that 2022 will be infinitely kinder to you and your body.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
