 Hi, there! In this post, I'll share some of my fashion illustration sketches. It's nothing too ambitious, basically just a few drawings I made recently.

It's been a while since my last Friday Fashion Illustration.  Fashion Illustration Friday used to be a regular feature on my blog, but the fact that all art posted online automatically gets stolen by AI put me of from posting my art, even sketches.

I still do commissions and sell my art from time to time. I have some commission orders that are waiting for Summer when I'll have more free time.

Art is still a part of my life, I just don't post about it that much. I mean I don't do art full time, but I try to make time for art in my life. Sometimes a five minute sketch is enough to breathe some inspiration into our life.

At the moment, five minutes is sometimes the best I can do.

 I HAVE ILLUSTRATED THIS LEATHER JACKET TWICE!  HERE & HERE

 Browsing my archives I realized that I have illustrated this leather jacket at least twice before. Moreover, counting the post today I have illustrated this pair of high brown boots four times! Is it me or am I starting to wear the items I have illustrated more often? Do you think that's possible? Perhaps illustrating them creates a sort of  visual fashion memento in my head. 

 SHOULD YOU USE A REFERENCE WHEN PRACTICING FASHION ILLUSTRATION?

Is reference important? Should I drew with a reference or from imagination? My answer would be that you should do both. When I wrote about ten ways to improve your fashion illustration skills, both drawing with and without reference made my list of tips.  I said that drawing with reference is important because it not only teaches you how to draw what you see but it also teaches you to look and pay attention to details. Similarly, drawing without a reference is important because it teaches you to see with your mind's eye.  Both is important to challenge yourself.

Friday Fashion illustration has been a regular feature one my blog for a long time now. I was late to discover the dangers of AI art theft, so I suppose the damage is done with the art I posted. I will try to be more careful in the future and post less. 


INTERESTING TIPS I FOUND ONLINE FOR PROTECTING YOUR ART AND PHOTOS AGAINST AI

#1 ARTICLE I RECOMMEND:  AN ARTICLE NAMED 'HOW TO PROTECT IMAGES FROM AI ART GENERATORS' 

THIS ONE IS WORTH CHECKING OUT, ESPECIALLY THEIR TIP ABOUT USING A SITE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO CHECK WHETHER YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS OR PAINTINGS HAVE ALREADY BEEN USED TO TRAIN AI?

#2 ARTICLE  I WANT TO RECOMMEND: HOW ARE ARTISTS FIGHTING BACK AGAINST AI ART THAT COPIES THEIR WORKS? 

One thing I especially appreciate about this article is how it introduced me to Glaze. It is a computer program that makes it harder for AI art generators to steal your art by making slight changes in it.  To include a direct quote: "Glaze is a tool to help artists to prevent their artistic styles from being learned and mimicked by new AI-art models such as MidJourney, Stable Diffusion and their variants." source: http://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/index.html So, I definitely learned something from this article. Another great thing is that a top of the article you can read the summary (perfect if you are in a hurry) but want to see what the article is about: 

# 3 ARTICLE I RECOMMEND:  4 WAYS TO PROTECT YOUR ART- The third article I would like to recommend has a number four in it and I'm all for it. From these four tips, my favourite one is not posting your art on social media. This is not just about AI theft prevention, but about artists' right in general. If you post your art on Instagram, everyone can use it without your permission and just link it to Instagram, Tik Tok or whatever social network you're using. Technically, the content belongs to them.

#4 ARTICLE I RECOMMEND: AI WILL MAKE HUMAN NOVELS OBSOLETE

#5 ARTICLE I RECOMMEND: THIS TOOL COULD PROTECT ARTISTS FROM ART THEFT

ANOTHER ART PROTECTION TOOL I FOUND ONLINE IS ART SHIELD. According to the website it fools the AI art generators into thinking that your art is AI generated as well. 

Direct quote: "ArtShield adds a watermark to your images so they're camouflaged to robot scrapers"


Here are two coloured pencil drawings I did one morning while waiting for my ride to arrive. One is just a quick sketch of a redhead in anime style, while the other is a full body sketch that is giving me fantasy vibes.

    I know that Croats are a proud nation with a long and brave warrior history. The tie is named after the Croatian horsemen, whose wives sent them off to war by tying their scarves in the shape of a tie for good luck :) Your photos and illustrations are phenomenal, you always surprise us with something :) You brought us back to ancient history and that's why i thank you

    I missed these beautiful illustrations! I especially love the lady in the red dress and green cape! She fits in with the current Classic Doctor Who episode I am watching as I type- The Time Warrior which is set in the Medieval era! I like the way you made your skirt look like it has an intriguing waistline with the scarf!xx

VENERA STOJAN, ŠKALULE I BATULE (Book review and recommendation)

 Hello! In this post, I'll take you back to Split city to share a book review and an outfit post. I'll review a book that made be both cry and laugh. You could say I believe in fate. Never has fate seemed more obvious to me than when it comes to books. So many times in my life has a book arrived at the right time! Every time that happened, I would wonder: 'What are the odds of that?'  There's a whole story behind how I bought this  book, and I will share a more detailed account soon. Until then, I'll give you a short version. I googled events in Split city and saw there was a promotion at Split city library. I have to say this was the best book promotion I have ever attended for a number of reasons. I'll get back to them as I don't have time to go in detail right now. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Les Miserables (outfit post+ book recommendation/ odjevna objava+ preporuka knjige)

I honestly don't remember when I enjoyed a novel as much as Les Miserable s by Victor Hugo and that, taken the fact that literature is a huge part of my life, is saying a lot. I loved absolutely everything about it, not just the characters and the story but also those parts that were historical and philosophical. This is a true classic and I good reminder to myself why it is always a good idea to get back to the classics. Now, about the outfit. Cat ears that I'm wearing started out as a necklace, worked part time as a belt and a bracelet, but you know how it is with jewellery I make, I always find new uses for it. Sometimes I think about the different function in the process of designing my pieces, but sometimes I get ideas as time goes up. This necklace I'm wearing is also my creation. HOW TO STYLE A YELLOW BLAZER WITH DAD SNEAKERS FOR SPRING?

My outfit proposal of the day is a casual one. I feel that not too long ago a blazer worn with jeans wouldn't have been exactly my first choice, especially paired with dad's sneakers, but times are changing. One of fun things about trends is that they can make you step outside of your comfort zone a little bit. Obviously, we shouldn't follow trends just for the sake of following them, but often they can give us inspiration. I certainly like to look at them that way, as a source of inspiration. Fashion moves in circles, so playing up with trends doesn't really have to cost anything, especially if you have already mastered shopping your own closet. The athletic sneaker trend is certainly a tempting one. It's hard to say not to the comfy sneakers trend, especially when you enjoy hiking and strolling around as much as I do. Most people do have an ugly sneaker in their closet. It is possibly the most comfortable option out there, so why not try styling it for every day?

Can we wear knits in spring time? I've been wearing them in spring time for a long as I can remember, but somehow I still find myself asking this question from time to time. Are sweaters really meant for spring? I suppose that sweaters and knits aren't the first thing that comes to our mind when we think of spring outfits. However, spring isn't always about perfect sunny weather. Sometimes we need layers and there is where knits come into picture. As tempting as it might be to pack all your cardigans and sweaters away once spring makes its appearance, sometimes it is really better to hold on to them. In reality, cardigans and sweaters can be your best friends in spring time. They are simply perfect for layering and we all know that layering is a must when weather is unpredictable. Sights to see, places to visit / Znamenitosti za vidjeti, mjesta za posjetiti -----Goranci

My Sights to see, places to visit feature would surely be missing something if I didn't include this little village Goranci in the list of places to visit. This charming little village is situated in the vicinity of Mostar.  I love to go there to espace the city heat.  If you are into cycling, you'd be happy to hear that you can rent a bike for free. You just need to leave your ID in the restaurant Goranci and you can take the bike. There is a wonderful cycling and pedestrian walk so be sure to check it out. As of recently, there is also a beautiful park at your disposal. This park is growing daily as new things are added to it(toys for kids and that sorts of stuff). If you look closely, you'll be able to see that some decorative trees are still being planted at the enterance to this park.  You can read some of my previous posts about this village here , here and here . Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Yellow Wallpaper (book recommendation/preporuka knjiga)

Today just one quick reading recommendation. The Yellow Wallpape r is a short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It was published in 1899 (as you can see on these photographs). Here is a link to a pdf version of this text. The author's right are expired, so feel free to pass it around- it is one of advantages of reading classics:). I do consider this short story to be a classic. It tells a story of a woman who is recovering from post natal depression and is confined to her room. It is considered to one of the earliest works of American feminist literature. In its time it was a very important and ground breaking work because it shed more light on mistreatment of depression in woman (and in many ways it is still relevant), but I think that even if we put all of that aside, it is still a  great story. Even without its important historical context, the story is strong enough to stand on its own. In reality, it is a well written and touching short story. Moreover, I would say that this
