FRIDAY FASHION ILLUSTRATION: SPRING VIBES

Hello, how are you doing? Welcome to another Friday Fashion Illustration. I'm continuing with my fashion illustration series even if I'm currently more involved into landscape and portrait painting. Sometimes I'll skip a week but I do try to keep this feature alive. In fact, I skipped it last week because I was on a medically motivated trip to Split, Croatia and just didn't have the time to post. Last Tuesday, however, I returned to Mostar and to my art making work regime. This morning I got up a bit earlier to sketch something nice for today. I found an old photograph of mine and used it as a reference for this fashion illustration. I like to challenge myself and draw different poses. I think it's as a  good way to improve one's fashion illustrating skills as any. I changed the outfit a little bit, though. The floral pink dress from this illustration is a bit shorter than something I would normally wear (unless I'm heading for the beach or something) but I wanted this illustration to convey spring vibes. La vie en rose and that sort of thing. Illustrating florals is always a lot of fun.

This illustration is drawn in elongated style typical for fashion illustration. I'm not sure will I upload it to my Redbubble shop yet but I do upload most of my illustration stuff there so there is a possibility this fashion sketch will be available as a print soon.  As you will see when you scroll bellow, I sketched this one in one of my larger sketchbooks. I used different brands of coloured pencils (none of them especially fancy). Coloured pencils aren't exactly my medium yet, but I hope to master them some day. Scroll down to see the making of collages  I put together for you (because I know many people like to see work in progress photographs).

MORE LINKS IN CASE YOU WANT TO CHECK MORE OF MY ART:

Besides sharing my new fashion illustration, today I'm also showing you an outfit in Pantene colours of the year (yellow and gray) that I put on solely for the purpose of this post.  I'm wearing a silk blouse I bought years ago for my grandmother but it didn't suit her, so I kept it for myself and a yellow jumpsuit I got in some collab a long time ago. The boots are from Peko but as their heels are worn out I don't wear them often. I don't remember how long it was since I bought these boots, but it's been a while for sure. Trends come and go, but I'm very partial to anything pointy when it comes to shoes and boots.  Big thanks to my husband for taking these fun photographs. Speaking of thanks, I want to thank you all so much for all of your encouraging comments on my new feature TRAVEL WITH MY ART. I will continue posting location inspired posts and paintings soon enough (in fact you can spy an acrylic landscape painting in the making behind my back if you look carefully).

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! Take care and stay safe. I'm joining Nancy's Style Link up and you can join it too. Just head over to Nancy's site for details.

  12. Such a lovely jumpsuit. When I saw the first illustration I thought you had painted it on the wall..which reminds me of visiting an artist who's entire bathroom was a mural of the jungle in his bathroom. It was a very interesting bathroom. One I will never forget. Possibly I remember it more than actually him.

Such lovely art pieces. I love how you have used such color, too.

  18. Have you ever tried dates, as in the fruit to help with the iron deficiency? I was just wondering as you mentioned your struggles with iron levels. Perhaps, you do take supplements for it? I also read that it's also good to take vitamin C as it helps with our body's iron absorption. I'm really in love with your outfit as you showed us your painting! It's such a lovely combo: yellow and gray. And those pointy boots totally made the whole look even chicer than usual. Love it! :)

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
