A NEUTRAL GREY DRESS FOR A VISIT TO STARI GRAD

Have I moved to Stari Grad? My recent posts seem to indicate so, but I'm still based in Jelsa. It is just that I love Stari Grad, so I visit it pretty often. It is only a five minute drive from Jelsa anyhow. I did consider renting here in Stari Grad when I initially arrived on island Hvar last year, but then I found something suitable in Jelsa. All for the best, because I still visit Stari Grad anytime. Anyway, let me show you what I wore for my latest visit to Stari Grad. You know this grey dress is the unsung hero of my wardrobe. I reach for it very often, especially when I can't figure out what to wear to work. A neutral dress like this one looks great paired with a blazer. It is easy to dress it up and down. The knee length makes it appropriate for a variety of situations and occasions. I have worn this grey dress for everything from hiking to conventions and fairs. It really is a magical neutral piece. That is why I decided to link up some of my older looks today. You know that I like to promote sustainability and responsibility in fashion on my blog. That is why I will show you 13 ways to style a long sleeves neutral grey dress. I will also talk a bit about Stari Grad town.

Stari Grad is a gorgeous historical city and I can never get tired of strolling and exploring it. This time we also stopped for lunch at Marko restaurant and even unexpectedly met some friends of ours. We had a nice time for sure. It is true that island Hvar is gorgeous, but like with any place I think it's important to have our eyes open. Beauty will pass you by if you don't stop to observe it. I do believe that you can always be a tourist and a traveler, no matter where you are, if you have the right frame of mind and enjoy exploring and learning new things. The best way to explore a town by just be on foot. So, when we think of sightseeing outfits, we usually envision comfortable shoes, right? Yes, putting an outfit for sightseeing seems simple enough. You wear comfortable clothes and shoes, right? However, most people will also want photographs to remember the moment, perhaps even photographs you can brag with! While I firmly believe in the importance of living in the moment, we all know taking photographs is often a part of our daily lives. Photographs allow us to recreate moments and memories. Moreover, if you like fashion yo might want for your outfit to look nice Sometimes it is as much about you as the sights. We do feel better when we're happy with what we wear. My outfit proposal of the way is comfy and I hope also chic. I wore something I quite liked and when you plan to do some sightseeing, I advise you to do the same. We should be practical when we dress for exploring, hiking or sightseeing some place, but that doesn't mean you should wear what you like.  You'll feel better.

TWELVE MORE IDEAS FOR STYLING THIS GREY DRESS- HOW I WORE IT BEFORE?

STARI GRAD ON ISLAND HVAR- A BEAUTIFUL HISTORICAL PORT TOWN
Stari Grad on island Hvar is a beautiful town full of history. Its name, meaning old city (stari - old, grad- city), couldn't be more appropriate. In fact, Stari Grad was formed the same year Aristotle was born in! Moreover, the connection with the ancient Greeks doesn't stop there. This city was actually formed by Greek colonists from island Paros who came here looking for a safe place to live after a natural catastrophe destroyed their homes. In this secluded bay, the ancient Greeks found both safety and beauty. They named this city Faros. This stunning port city, Aristotle's contemporary, can boast with five thousand years of continuous urban tradition. It is also an amazingly beautiful, authentic and picturesque touristic destination. More than five thousand years of urban tradition is not something you see every day. Walking these streets, you can really breathe in history and culture. Autumn is a great time to visit but winters are also pretty mild here, so a winter stay makes sense too. Maybe not right in this moment because of the pandemic, but when things calm down and if they calm down- this is surely a place worth visiting.

  18. Hello Ivana, how you doing? Hope you had a really nice weekend!

As usual thanks for your valuable motivation on my blog, you know you are of my biggest influences and inspirations in this blogging world! Thanks for that!

And I know you always move a lot, but good to know you have close destinations to Jelsa, one hour is not that much and I love to explore around with your pictures in the blog posts! Stari Grad seems like a place full of surprise, it reminds me a lot of some places in Spain like Tarragona and Mallorca, with the fortresses and the blue view you can have from the ancient parts of the city. I also liked port town, really magical and the ideal place to have a walk and get inspired with the facades.

Now about the looks in grey I really like all of them, but the one with the red jacket is my favorite. For me grey is such an inspiring color, not a boring one, is that color that offer multiple combinations and make any other color to pop out, so it is ideal and you can use it from a formal occasion or a city walk!

  22. It is true that it pays to be a tourist in one's own town - even if it is a temporarily adopted one like Stari Grad. People often walk past the same sights, day in and day out, without really taking in what they see. I also agree that the best way to get to know a place is by exploring it on foot. Your grey dress is simply but stylish, and by the looks of it, it can be styled in so many different ways and for every occasion. Perfect for exploring too! I know comfort is key, but that doesn't mean it cannot go hand in hand with looking fabulous! Wishing you a lovely week, Ivana! xxx

  29. Stari Grad is so picturesque! I love the narrow street/alley you're posing in.

That grey dress is incredible on you! I adore a piece that can be transformed from casual to dressy to business with just changing shoes or adding a scarf or blazer to it. That's a great classic piece.

I hope you had a good weekend, and took some "mental health" time to unwind, Ivana. Here's to a calmer week ahead.
