MALA STINIVA BAY ON ISLAND HVAR (PART 2)

A place that is this beautiful deserves at least two travel posts, don't you agree? So, here it is: a second post devoted to bay Mala Stiniva bay. If you haven't done so already, don't forget to read the first installment of my winter visit to this enchanting bay famous for high cliffs and crystal clear sea. Today I'll show you a closer/more detailed look of this bay. One thing I adore about Dalmatia are all those adorable stone houses that merge so beautifully with the nature itself. What befits a rocky terrain better than a stone house? I do like Dalmatian architecture. Scroll down to have a closer view of the type of houses you can find in this bay as well as too more of its beach.
Isn't this stone house simply dreamy? I love how it looks like it is a part of the bay itself. As I mentioned in my last post, Mala Stiniva Bay belongs to Poljica village on island Hvar. Do you notice the vertical cliffs in the background not to mention the rocky terrain itself? Stina means a rock in Dalmatian dialect so that is probably how the name came to be. Mala means little, possibly it is named thus because there is a bay near by called Big Stiniva (Vela Stiniva). Rocks here are everywhere, from the giant vertical stones that encompass this bay to those used to build some of the locals' houses. These picturesque cliffs contrast with the softness of Adriatic sea beautifully, if I might say so. I also had fun posing next to a fishing boat and a giant cacti. I did told you that cacti plants are quite present here. This whole area is so gorgeous and Mala Stiniva is really a beautiful As you can see, it is quite secluded and it has a nice beach. The nature that surrounds this bay is stunning as well.  Ah, the colours of this bay- the greens and the blues. That gorgeous pine forest and the ever present agava plants and cacti add to greenery.  The sea amazed with its blues. What a lovely bay to own a home in! There are only a few houses in this bay. As I already said, all the accommodation this bay offers is privately owned. You can book your accommodation there either through an agency or by inquiring directly with the locals. Booking with the locals is usually a more affordable option as all agencies take a percentage but on the other hand going through an agency might be faster. I suppose both has its advantages. I'm thinking of booking a stay in this bay myself, but seeing that I live here at the moment, I might try to book directly.
Well, that would be about it for today as far as writing is concerned. I already talked a lot about this bay in my past post, so today I'll keep it shorter and let the photographs do the talking. This is a beautiful bay, that's for sure. I'm not even sure if photographs do it justice, but I did try hard to capture some of its beauty.  Island Hvar is a special place, that's for sure. I love writing about it and sharing some lesser known but equally beautiful bays this magical island has to offer. Can you believe that some people who live on this island haven't been to this place before? Mala Stiniva is a hidden gem. Scroll down to see more of this beautiful bay.

  24. What a wonderful collection of pictures, being honest I would like to keep in touch with nature this year, sometimes the rush of the city catch me and it is impossible to slow down, so a place like this is always necessary.... You made me feel the sensation of this place: the fresh air, the sound of the water and the bright sun over the nature *___*

And you picked a nice outfit to explore out there!
