AN ANNIVERSARY OUTFIT: STANKA ZOVKO LILAC DRESS AND SKIRT (OZZ BRAND)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! Today I will show you what I wore to celebrate our wedding anniversary. To celebrate we went to restaurant Kolo on Bunica river. We visit this place frequently as this green oasis is only a short drive away from Mostar. This was our ninth wedding anniversary. Funny how times flies! To think it's nine years since we tied the knot (and much longer since we've been dating). So, practically most of my adult life! Anyhow, as most of the time, I have my husband to thank for these lovely photographs. Now, about my outfit. What to wear to one's anniversary? I think the best thing to wear is something we feel good in. That's different for everyone, isn't it?

 I wanted to wear something feminine and chic but comfortable at the same time. I decided to pair a lilac dress by designer Stanka Zovko with a lilac polka dot print skirt from the same designer. This skirt is a part of a matching set, but I thought it would be fun to wear it with this dress. I layered this A-line skirt over the dress hoping that the dress would act as a pettiskirt (petticoat) and give it some fun volume. That's exactly what happened so in the technical sense of the word, this outfit worked. I do like to wear dresses as tops (by layering a skirt over them). This often saves me the trouble of finding the appropriate underskirt because the dress serves that function. Now, when it comes to accessories, I wanted to keep them neutral. I went for earthy tones: a beige bag and a pair of brown heeled sandals. As a last minute thought, I added a bit of bling by accessorizing the bag with one of my old DIY necklaces. The outfit proved very comfortable so I would say it worked in the practical sense of the word as well. At any rate, I was happy with it. Scroll down for more information. 

HOW I WORE IT BEFORE? Once again I shopped my closet. Some of these items are quite new to my closet, but I still managed to get a few wears out of time. I like to link up clothing items I wore before. It's a great way to keep a digital record of what I wore. Plus, it promotes sustainability and can give fashion inspiration.

 Bunica recreational zone is such a lovely place, especially in summer time. Swimming is allowed as the rivers here aren't dangerous. I'd say they're much a safer option that Neretva river that is quite cold, big and  fast. If you're staying in Mostar, Buna is a must see place as it is quite near. Alternatively, you can also choose to stay here. There are motels and villas here, and there is also some private accommodation available. If you're a bird lover (especially a duck lover) bring some bread with you, because the ducks here seem to be always hungry. Moreover, ducks are not the only birds you can see there. If you're into bird-watching, this is a pretty good spot. I've saw some interesting birds here in the past, mostly woodpeckers, so I'd say Bunica is a nice destination for bird watching. You know not matter how often we visit this place, I just can't get enough of it. 

One of the things I can recommend when it comes to this restaurant is their fig cake. It's a delicious local specialty. I try not to each much sweets because of health reasons, but sometimes I cannot resist ordering the dessert. What about you? Do you like sweets? Can you resist your sugar cravings?
