How To Accessorize Summer Dresses? + Zaful Review

Welcome August! As the title of this post indicated, today we're going to talk about accessorizing summer dresses. I wrote a piece about layering summer dresses last month, so in a way this post is a continuation of that one. Today I'll show you some outfit ideas and we're talk a bit about accessorizing dresses in summer. I'll also do a review of  Zaful online store. Most of the items I'm going to show you today were gifted to me by the above mentioned store for the purpose of reviewing them.

HOW TO STYLE A VIBRANT PRINT FLORAL DRESS?

My first outfit proposal is a pencil dress worn with sandals and a tote bag. I accessorized with a pink scarf that seems to match this dress quite well. From other accessories, I also opted to wear sunglasses (a must in the summer), earrings and a watch. This was a very comfortable outfit to wear. I'm really happy with this dress, the material is very breathable and it's a good fit. This dress is perhaps a bit too big for me around the waist, but that is easily fixable. Perhaps I'll wear it with a belt, perhaps I'll adjust it and perhaps I'll leave it as it is.  In summer, sometimes it is good to keep things a bit loose. At times, I even like to go size up to keep things more comfortable during those extremely warm days.  How to do you like this dress? I absolutely love the print of this dress. It's so vibrant, it looks 3D. I'm also satisfied with the length of the dress, the knee length is always a good choice. I see myself wearing this dress very often. It is the kind of dress that is easy to dress up, so I might even wear it for special occasions and formal events.

HOW TO STYLE A GREY TURTLENECK DRESS?

Now is time for one sporty outfit proposal. This grey turtleneck dress is clearly a casual clothing item. The easiest way to style it seems to be pairing it with a simple black belt and sneakers. Maybe some day I'll try to dress up this dress because I think that might be a fun challenge, but in the meantime I plan to wear it like this, that is, sporty style. Do you like this kind of sporty dresses?

HOW TO STYLE A LONG SLEEVE BLACK MINI DRESSES?

Now, I'm going to show you how easy it is to dress up a mini dress. I prepared two outfit proposals for this long sleeve black mini dress. In the first outfit, I wore this dress with sneakers and with no accessories. In the other outfit, I accessorized with earrings and with heels. Moreover, for the second outfit proposal I layered this dress with a pink poncho top. What outfit do you like best? Sporty outfit or a dressed up version?

I included another outfit photograph of this poncho top for reference purpose. Bellow you can see what this poncho top looks like worn with a denim skirt. For comparison, look at the above photograph to see it worn with a dress. I think I like the second option better, but I'm surprised by how well  this pink poncho top matches the dress.  I ordered this pink top with fringes planning to wear it with jeans, but now I'm realizing there are many ways to style it. This top will soon become one of my summer favourites, I can already feel it. Unfortunately, it is sold out, but who knows maybe it will be back in stock.

HOW TO STYLE A GREEN MAXI DRESS

My other outfit proposal involves a green maxi dress. To make things a bit more interesting (and to cover my operation scar), I wore the belt that came with the dress as a scarf. I think that was a fun way to accessorize this maxi! In addition, I accessorized this dress with a pair of earrings and a headband. This dress proved a good fit. I like the fact that maxi is really long, despite being medium size. Sometimes I worry when ordering maxi dress in M size because I'm afraid they might be too short for me,  but this one fits perfectly and I can even wear heels with it.That's just lovely, because being 5 feet 9, sometimes it is challenging to find a maxi dress that is also a good fit with heels. The material of this dress is synthetic, which makes ironing easy but it also seems to wrinkle easily. I will probably only wear this dress for evening, because I think I will be too hot in it during the day (albeit a synthetic material might be just perfect when the weather gets a bit chilly). I do think I'll wear this dress often enough, and I don't regret ordering it. Any dress that makes you want to dance is a perfect dress for you!

HOW TO STYLE A VELVET SHIRT DRESS?

I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for shirt dresses. Maybe because I like both shirt and dresses, so the mix of the two seems just dreamy? I'm a big fan of green, and this shade seems just perfect to match it with gold accessories. So, I accessorized by going all gold. I wore a gold belt, a gold headband, and gold heels. I would say this is a great summer evening look, perfect for when you want to feel comfortable. I would say a dress like this is pretty easy to accessorize. You can dress it down by wearing it with casual shoes. I do plan to get a lot of wear out of this dress. This velvet dress is just as pretty as I hoped it will be when I ordered. The material is really soft as well. I think I'll wear it even more in Autumn.

When it comes to floral prints, what I was lacking in my closet this summer was a tiny floral  print dress. I opted for this loose cut maxi dress. I like the feather details on this dress, they give the dress a retro feel, I'd say. It's almost like this dress  came accessorized. But we can always accessorize more, right? I decided to accessorize it a bit more with an oversize belt. I think this belt matches this dress quite well, it even gives it a bit of geisha feel. All in all, I'm happy with this dress. I did intent to wear it with a belt when I ordered it. I don't think it looks as nice without it, but that's a personal preference. A loose cut worn without a belt is certainly a good way to keep cool in the summer. How do you like this outfit?

HOW TO STYLE AN OFF SHOULDER WHITE DRESS

My last summer outfit proposal is an all white styling. All white outfits are perfect for summer, don't you agree? This lovely dress is technically not all white, it has some interesting print that looks like embroidery but I think a touch of colour always looks nice, even more so in an otherwise all white styling. Anyhow, I paired this off shoulder white dress with white jeans. This vintage pair of white jeans has proved an ideal pairing for summer dresses. To make this white styling even more summery,  I accessorized with earrings and a beach bag. It was a very comfortable outfit to wear, perfect for an evening stroll. This dress can also be paired with leggings, or even worn on its own. I'll show you more outfits with it in the future. Since this post features so many different outfits, I didn't want to overdo it, but I already styled this dress in another way.

That would be all for today. Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!

  1. So many lovely summertime looks on you Ivana! The coral fringed kaftan top is such a gorgeous item on you - I swear your legs go on forever and ever haha :) The colourful dress shown first in this post is also very lovely and striking. Hope you're having a great week so far!

  2. Wow...you've included so many fabulous pieces here, Ivana!!
First, that small floral print really comes alive with that belt. Sometimes I think that the small florals can look frumpy, but this definitely changes that idea!
Then that poncho over your dress is perfect. In fact, it's almost like it's part of the dress!!
And finally wearing that white dress over white pants is such a great combination.
You have such an amazing sense of style!!

  5. Wow Ivana this is like multiple posts in one. I love the first floral dress so much. It's styled to perfection. Aside from the print being so pretty, the addition of the accessories worked really well. The fit is also perfect on you. The other one I like so much is the off shoulder white dress. I like the you can style it with the jeans and without. Theyre both so perfect for Summer and you look gorgeous in all the shots.

  17. This is a great topic! Sometimes it's harder to accessorize in the Summer because we feel we get to wear less layers, but Summer can be just as stylish as Fall and winter!
