THE MAGIC OF NERETVA RIVER.... (A SIMPLE SUMMER STYLING)

If the title didn't give it away, I'm back in Bosnia and Herzegovina. How many times have I blogged about the natural wonders of this country? Possibly too many to count. I will have to check my blog archives and come up with some useful reference links for those of you who might want to know more about this country.

The photographs I'm about to share today capture me admiring the beauty of Neretva river and very much enjoying being on the banks of Neretva river. The water surfaces have always fascinated me. Having grown up in a coastal town (I'm originally from Split, Croatia), I've always been enamored with the sea. When I moved to Herzegovina many years ago, I've learned to appreciate the river magic. It's a different kind of magic, but just as potent as the sea magic.

That's the story behind the photographs I'm sharing today. A sunny day on the banks of the Neretva river and a short pause for a coffee date with my husband. We stopped for a cup of coffee while on the road to Čapljina. That's how these photographs came to be. The outfit I'm wearing is a summer one, because it's still quite warm here in Herzegovina.

While I have yet to paint the Neretva river, I do have some seascapes that made me think of it, so there are some arty collages in this post as a way of tribute to this glorious river.

If you visit Mostar, hanging around and exploring Neretva river is a must. There are other rivers in Mostar city that are just as lovely, but none is as potent and breath-taking as the Neretva river itself. I often talk about this river. I can't tell you how many locals have told me that I have opened their eyes to the beauty of Neretva river (probably because I can't shut up about it!). Considering that I spend so much time handing around this river, it makes sense to talk about what I like to wear for exploring Neretva's riverside.

2. https://modaodaradosti.blogspot.com/2019/06/a-secret-lake-in-mostar-city-hiking.html

Did you know there is a hidden lake in Mostar city? Well, now you do know. What is a point in being an insider if not to share some insider tips, right? Surprisingly, this lovely lake is quite unknown. Calling it a secret wouldn't be going to far. However, finding it is not really that difficult, if you know what you're looking for. I would definitely recommend visiting this gorgeous lake if you ever happen to visit Mostar city. This beautiful lake isn't man made. It wasn't planned or anything like that. It's basically river Neretva coming through old mining canals. There is also some underground water in this area, but this lake is probably composed entirely of Neretva river (it's on about the same level as the river). Many bird families have found their home there. It is a very serene place. Very few people visit it. I often get to enjoy a view of this stunning lake as it happens to be a part of my typical hiking route.

5. https://modaodaradosti.blogspot.com/2019/10/nature-monument-in-vicinity-of-mostar.htmlYou can find this amazing natural monument in vicinity of Mostar city.  Here is the spot where river Neretva divides in two, forming a pool like surface running on one end and a quick river on other. The same river, but two completely different scenes, running side by side. I hope to be able to visit this spot again some time soon, it's truly magnificent.

Thank you for visiting. Have a lovely day!

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
