TRAVEL WITH MY ART #15: BAY LOZNA, ISLAND HVAR

Hello readers and fellow bloggers! How are you doing? I'm back with another Travel With My Art post. One again, it is a seascape inspired by island Hvar. The medium is acrylic paints on mixed media paper (brand Royal Talens.) As always, I includes a reference photograph (I took myself) and some wip photographs.

I'm still in Croatia and it  will probably take me another day or two to answer to your comments as Internet connection is still a problem. I'm typing this on my cellphone so I will keep this post short.  I'm alright, but quite tired. My health has taken a turn for the worse lately. I probably worked a bit too hard on my vacation. I hope it is nothing that some rest can't cure.

THE MAKING OF AN ACRYLIC PAINTING- LOZNA BAY ON ISLAND HVAR

Work in progress photos - I worked on this painting for about two days. The main thing for me was to get the pebbles and the sea right. As you can see on my reference photograph, the sea in this  bay is crystal clear. I wanted to capture that in my painting.

THE FINAL  RESULT

Thank you for visiting! Take care.

  1. I hope you are resting and on the mend. Such beautiful work on the water of this painting. You are in my thoughts. All the best to staying strong and self care.

  2. Amazing! You definitely have this process of layering the painting and it's detail to an art. I hope you stay well and don't over do it. You are rather an endurance artist. It's great to see your passion. All the best!

  3. P.S. Thank you so much for visiting and reading my blog and much much more. This weekend we had a major storm hit us. It was like a hurricane catagory 2 and we are far from any ocean since we are in the Heartland of America. Lots of power outages, trees on streets and on houses. Of course, I slept through the whole storm.

  4. Sorry to hear your health is not at its best, Ivana. Take care of yourself (before everyone else!) and get some rest!

Your painting is amazing - I hope you don't get tired of hearing that! I love the movement of the water, and how your technique is starting to take over with the rocks on the shorelines now! Brava!

  10. Hello dear Ivana, first of all I am happy to see you back but on the other side I am sad to here that your health is not the best right now :( I really hope you can get some rest soon and that you can feel better in the upcoming weeks!

Despite that the art portrayed in this blog post inspired by Lozna Island is amazing. Specially the pebbles and obviously the texture of the water, you can really feel that the water is there, transparent and ready for a summer swing :)

Sending you my best wishes as usual dear

  19. Thoroughly beautiful piece of art. So serene and timelessly captivating.

From the bottom of my heart, I am truly sorry that your health has been far from ideal as of late, dear one. My own health has been taking one heck of a beating this year as well. Let us hold tight to the hope that things will improve on that front for both of us as we embrace the second half of 2021.
