WHAT I WEAR ON THE GO: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS

According to the calendar, the summer has officially ended (Well, not really. I was corrected by Sheila , when I was writing this post there was still a week of summer ahead). As happy I am that Autumn is (almost) here, I'm still not ready to let summer go. I'm looking forward to Autumn season and I'm really happy and excited about the whole #backtoschool thing. Seriously, isn't it wonderful that the school has finally started?  However, at the same time, I want the summer feeling to linger. I want to keep onto those summer vibes. Do you sometimes feel like that? I plan to continue to travel locally whenever I can. If you're sorry to see summer go, remember there are always ways to keep summer with you. For example, you can try to incorporate some of your summer or vacation habits into your daily routine: go swimming at a local pool if you don't have sea near you and etc. If you saved your vacation time for now, lucky you. I honestly think this is best time to visit Croatia. Now, that the crowds are gone, you'll have those beaches all to yourself. Well, we'll have them all to ourselves because I'm staying in Croatia for the time being. I will probably blog a bit less often now that I'm working longer hours again. I'm working full time at the moment, but I also do some freelance work.  If things get too busy for me to manage, I'll probably blog less often. Anyhow, let's talk travelling outfits. WHAT I WORE RECENTLY: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS #modaodaradostiWHAT I WORE RECENTLY: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS #modaodaradostiAs the title of this post indicates, today I'll share five travel friendly outfits with you that are suitable for warm weather. All of these outfits are simple to put together. You all probably have some kind of dresses and skirts in your closet. Here are some outfit ideas featuring dresses and skirts (and one outfit that features a dress worn under a skirt). I have worn all of these outfits fairy recently. So, let's get started.

1. OUTFIT NUMBER 1: A FLORAL MAXI DRESS WORN WITH TROPICAL PRINT SANDALS AND HAND PAINTED TOTE BAG I wore this printed floral predominately white maxi dress quite a few times. You can see how I styled it in the past here, here , HERE , HERE, HERE and here. I paired it with art tropical print sandals (not an affiliated link , throwing it in because I love them not because they are sponsored in any way) and hand painted second hand (possibly vintage) tote bag. I'm very passionate about painting on clothes with textile paints. I  definitely can recommend this kind of art project to anyone. If you don't have any aspirations towards arts&crafts and don't feel like DIY this kind of tote bag, you can try to buy it from somewhere.  I cannot link up anything exactly the same as this bag since I painted it myself, but in redbubble shop you can buy tote bags with my art prints. I ordered one of redbubble tote bags with my prints  once for a gift if you want to see what it really looks like you can check it out in this post.WHAT I WORE RECENTLY: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS #modaodaradostiWHAT I WORE RECENTLY: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS #modaodaradosti

OUTFIT NUMBER 2: A NAUTICAL PRINT DRESS WORN WITH LEGGINGS, BROWN HEELED SANDALS AND MADE IN CROATIA BAG
This second styling is something I wore in the evening for this amazing summer event in Jelsa called Dance of the Sails. Every Thursday, local fisherman from Vrbovska arrive in their traditional wooden boats and dance to film music. That same evening I bought a new bag. It is hand made and sold by a local lady Dragica from Jelsa. The bag costs me 250 kunas and I'm really happy with it. I usually don't spend as much on bags (I'm more a shoe lady than a bag lady) but this one was worth it because it is handmade and the design is so original. Supporting local artisans is always a good thing to do.

OUTFIT NUMBER 3: PETER PAN COLLAR VINTAGE BLOUSE PAIRED WITH A BLUE PLEATED SKIRT, BROWN SANDALS AND A YELLOW BAG.
This is another styling that is comfortable for styling and is a great example of shopping one's closet.  I have had all of these items for years and I still very much enjoy wearing them. I wore this outfit for a ferry ride from Split city to Stari Grad town. This puffed sleeve shirt is really comfortable and I felt it really fits this blue pleated skirt. I love the combination of blue and yellow so I added a yellow bag to this styling. This goes to show that a comfy styling can be chic. These brown platform sandals are very comfortable and I like how they elongate my legs. Heeled sandals can be so flattering to our legs. One of these days I'm going to make a post about 40 ways to wear these brown heeled sandals. WHAT I WORE RECENTLY: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS #modaodaradostiWHAT I WORE RECENTLY: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS #modaodaradostiWHAT I WORE RECENTLY: FIVE TRAVEL FRIENDLY OUTFITS #modaodaradosti
OUTFIT NUMBER 4: A WHITE SHIRT WORN WITH A DENIM SKIRT AND DRIVING LOAFERS
Another outfit that is very travel friendly and also sustainable. I've had this white shirt for ages. I got it from Wind Jet, an Italian airline I worked for years ago. I did some DIY work on the shirt but I'll show you that some other time. Anyhow, I always like the combination of white and denim. There is something so basic about it. As for this denim skirt, I wore it often (see this post about 14 ways to style it). These beige driving loafers also get a lot of wear and it only makes sense that they are my 'go to' shoe for driving. I already told you the story of this bag. Not surprisingly, I've already got a lot of wear out of it!

OUTFIT NUMBER 5: A CHERRY PRINT DRESS WORN UNDER A BLUE PLEATED SKIRT AND WITH A TOTE BAG AND TROPICAL PRINT SANDALS
My final outfit isn't just travel friendly, it's also a great example of how you can maximize your travel wardrobe. Here you can see how I wore my cherry print dress as a top and I accomplished that by wearing a blue pleated skirt on top. I often wear my dresses as tops that way. For example, I will often do that when I feel that the dress might be too short for some occasion or when it is windy (as it was that day) and I don't want the wind to cause wardrobe malfunctions. As for accessories, I wore the same DIY tote bag and tropical print sandals from the first outfit. I plan to make a 30 ways to wear these sandals post asap.

Good thing you now have a full time job !! I'm gonna miss you!!
I like the beginning of autumn, here in Portugal it is still hot and as you say the crowds are already gone !! The look I liked the most was with the pleated skirt with the cherry blouse, it was super fun, but all the other looks are great for those on vacation in September !!

  24. Technically, it's not autumn until after the autumnal equinox, which is in about a week (usually Sept 21st or 22nd), so we still have a week of summer! Don't rush it! :)

I like your choice of dresses, including one that can be worn as a top, layered under a skirt. Pieces that have good crossover function always get the most wear when I travel. I usually do a pair of pants, a couple of skirts or 1 skirt/1 dress, a bunch of tops, a layering piece (jacket, cardigan), and a coat. I usually pack 3-4 pairs of shoes for a week, to rotate them so that my feet don't get sore. I also go through my giveaway pile and take items that I no longer want, and I leave them behind, as gifts or to donate if the cleaning staff don't want them.

  34. Dearest Ivana,
you are showing very beautiful and stylistically very different outfits that all look great on you! I like your tips on how to prolong the summer or summer feelings! Just like you, I'm happy about the beginning of autumn. And we will also be going on vacation in our own country this autumn :-) - I think that Covid19 makes some people really rediscover their own country. (So do we - a little bit ;-)) As I know about you, however, you have always enjoyed visiting your country - no wonder, Croatia is beautiful and worth seeing!
All the best and a nice "week division",

  36. Hello Ivana, hope you're doing good.... here in Barcelona we will be enjoying a couple of summer days, I'd say we normally have hot days till November, but at least you can wear a light jacket... I have mixed feelings right now, since I feel like this summer was really strange and it was a blink of an eye, but on the other side I miss my chunky sweaters.

And I adore every outfit option, each one is so dfifferent but each one is so you! Specially because you're wearing your own art in the first one, that tote bag is perfect to get all that you need but staying fashionable! Then the shirt with the abstract flowers is amazing, totally worthy of a creative artist like you! The other options with the blue skirt are really good too, that piece is an statement, you can wear it with anything you like and it would like amazing any way!

Hope you're doing good again, can't wait to see more art from you as usual!

I especially love this floral maxi dress and how the pleated skirt is blowing in the wind :-) I would love to wear such pleated skirts, but unfortunately they don't suit me. I think the idea of wearing the cute dress under the skirt is awesome. i also really like the white blouse with the denim skirt. This is such a straightforward yet chic outfit.
And I would also like to have that summer feeling for a while :-))
