A FEMININE SUMMER STYLING FOR A SUNSET IN SPLIT CITY
As promised, I'm back with another travel post about Split city. What is summer without beach sunsets? What is the best way to experience sunset in Split city? Personally, I would always suggest a sunset with a sea view. If you ask me, when it comes to sunsets - the beach is the place to be. Nothing quite tops a beach sunset, does it? The way the sun seems to sink into the sea and set it ablaze. There is nothing quite like it. Experiencing sunset in Split city is definitely something I must recommend.Imagine a magnificent view of the coast topped by impressive mountains that meets the Adriatic sea with its beautiful islands in the distance. No wonder that Split has the most amazing summer sunsets.
In my previous post, you had the chance to see the city centre and ACI Marina in Split, today I'll show you Trstenik beach, Zenta Marina and Firule beach. There are many lovely beaches in Split city and the great thing is that most of them are located one next to the other, so you can literally walk your way through all of them- and right up to the centre of the city. I would recommend a route starting with Žnjan beach and ending with Bačvice beach. The route includes the following beaches: Žnjan, Trstenik, Zenta, Firule, Ovčice and Bačvice. Besides these beaches, I would also recommend visiting beaches around Marjan hill such as Kašuni and Kaštelat/Obojena. I tried all of them and they are all Ivana approved. Bene beach on Marjan hill is especially worthy of a mentioned as it is fully equipped for people with a disability.

AGAVE PLANTS IN SPLIT CITY
Another thing I love about Split city are the agave plants you can see just about everywhere. Agave plants are native to South and North America (some varieties of it are native only to South America). They are not native to Split city, but they have been around since forever. I think it would be literally impossible for me to imagine Split city without its signature palm trees and agave plants. Despite not being native to Europe, both palm trees and agave plants have become iconic symbols of the city. Check out this post to see how agave plants look like in bloom. We were fortunate to see some blossom right now. Agave are called a century plant because they are slow to develop and some kinds are only said to blossom once in a hundred years. How cool is that? It makes it extra special to see an agave plant blossom.
THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT
The evening these photographs were taken was quite windy, so I decided to layer my outfit. I wore tights under my Belle Poque dress and a black shirt over it. I finished the outfit with a pair of comfy shoes (because of the amount of walking I was planning to do) and a straw bag. This feminine summer styling was quite comfortable. I applied all of the style lessons I learned from Malena in this outfit. As much as I love colour, sometimes I like to play it simple. A part of me loves nothing more than the elegance of the typical Mediterranean lady chic, but a part of me lives for crazy colours, folklore and bohemian style. This was an evening when the Mediterranean side of me won.
Trstenik beach (the one you have just seen) is followed by marina Zenta, another location that often gets featured and promoted on this little blog of mine (for example here and here). Besides walking, there are other things you can do in Zenta Marina. There are two fabulous restaurants there (I can recommend both of them). Plus, it is a great place to sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee. In addition, you can also find an Olympic sized pool and a bar here. Tennis courts are located just a few meters from the Zenta marina. Lovely place to take photos for sure. Moreover, the marina and the boats themselves are quite photo worthy. Now, you know where you have to go if you want to get some photo worthy pics, don't you? From Zenta you can walk all the way to the old city centre and see more gorgeous beaches on the way. That's what I usually do. Nothing beats those seaside walks if you ask me.Yesterday I showed you around ACI Marina Split, today I'm showing you a smaller (but equally beautiful) Zenta marina. If you want to see more of it, you can check out my older posts:

That's would be all, folks. The last photograph depicts Firule beach (showed also here and here). If you want, you can check out my posts about Bačvice beach here . In fact, if you look for it, you can find a ton of Split city themed posts on my blog. I'm working on more Split city themed posts as we speak, so stay tuned for more.
As always thank you for reading and visiting. Have a fantastic weekend!

DeleteHow interesting that agave plants grow in Split City. I have long associated them with Mexico for some reason. Interesting how your outfit came together. I like you transformed your dress into a top and the coordinating textured tights are actually my favorite component. You always manage a lovely balance of style, practicality and comfort with your looks.
ReplyDeleteI think agave trees are native to Mexico. They grow here and seem to do really well, but they are not native to Europe, just South and North America.
DeleteThose sunset photos are gorgeous, Ivana! As is your simple but chic and elegant outfit. The dress is a delight and I love how you layered it with tights and a black shirt! Have a lovely week! xxx

DeleteA very interesting set. Great tights. I heard that Split is a very nice city. The pictures show that it's true. Maybe I will be able to visit one day.
ReplyDeletethank you dear. Split is a lovely city. I hope you'll get to visit it some day. Its architecture is fascinating, you can see both Roman and modern buildings! I think you would find it interesting.
DeleteYour beautiful dress with the side buttons is just gorgeous. I am in awe of that detailing and of course, the agave plants! OMG, I don't know where I've been but I just found out of their existence through your blog. How out of this world. They look huge! You're so blessed to have them blossoming around there. I don't think I've ever seen one here. Beaches and sunsets? Well, they both make us introspective, don't they and I for one, love sitting by the shoreline, enjoying the frothy white waves, blue orange skies and waving palm trees. Just looking at the horizon and melting away with everything!
ReplyDeletethank you dear, agave are pretty amazing plants. Maybe you can plant them there?
DeleteWhat lovely sunset photos! I find them really tricky to capture but you've managed perfectly. You certainly can't beat seeing the sun sink over the sea after a gloriously hot summer's day. x
ReplyDeletethank you. I do agree. Seeing the sunset is always a treat.
