      I wish it often myself. It was a long time since I had gone to the mountains (or the nature in general) and it will probably be months until I can go hiking again.

Hello, in this post, I'll share my review for a book of essays and two outfits I wore recently in Split city, Croatia. As you all might know, Split is my home city, but for a quite some time now, I have lived between two cities: Split and Mostar. Anyway, I did some vintage shopping in Split, buying both books and clothes. So, you can expect more vintage book reviews and outfits coming!  The book of essays in question is titled Great Essays in Science and edited by Martin Gardner. It contains 30 scientific essays on different topics. Most of the essays are still relevant and quite interesting. Honestly, I found only a few of them a bit dated and only one was tiresome. All the rest were quite fascinating, even those that felt a bit dated. So, I'm really happy I got this book. I'm sure I'll be rereading this collection of essays. Warmth is important / Toplina je važna

What can I say about today's outfit? Paring jeggings with a sweater dress (or if you wish you can also call it a long sweater) is no brainer. Doc martens are always a good choice and often I like to wear them like this, with socks rolled up over the boots. If the socks in question are wool ones, then one is pretty sure that his or her feet will be extremely warm. This beanie is also made from wool and what makes it very special is the fact that my grandmother made it for me. Wool is great because it helps us stay warm. Cold lowers our immunity (i.e. makes us immune system more vulnerable), so it is important to stay warm during Winter. To finish this look, I opted for this lovely necklace ( here ) and this elegant bag because I like how they create a contrast with this otherwise grunge outfit.  Što mogu reći o današnjoj kombinaciji. INSPIRED BY A VINTAGE EDITION OF ANNA KARENINA

Hello, there! In this post, I'll mix up fashion and art, books and style (as usual, you might say). Recently I have acquired a copy of Anna Karenina in Italian. I picked it up in my favourite vintage book shop in Split. More about that later, let's talk about the location and the outfit for a second. How do you like this styling? Looking at it now, it's giving me feminine vintage vibes. I just love its earthy colour palette. It matches the vintage cover quite nicely! Why is it so hard to write about the things we love the most? Perhaps I should for once let the photographs do the talking. Beautiful Split city. When it gets cold........Kada zahladi..........

 What is your solution for those really cold days? I tend to fight the cold with layering and exposing as little skin as possible. That means scarves, gloves, caps, puffers and long coats....all those things I like to call full winter gear. Lately I've been quite enjoying this challenge of wearing as much clothes as humanly possible. This year (perhaps for the first time), I'm not at all impatient for the Spring to arrive but rather I'm enjoying this Winter. I'm not complaining about the wind (south or nothern) and I'm not bothered by the rain. If the night is too cold for a long evening walk, I have my fabulous book collection to rely on.  If you change a pair of shoes, you have changed the whole outfit. Wear sneakers to dress an outfit down, but wear elegant shoes to dress it up. Sometimes it is as simple as that. This is what I wore today. It was a sunny and beautiful day , so I wanted to take advatage of it to show you more ways to style these pants . Thanks to my photographer, I managed to do it.  Promijenite li par cipela, promijenili ste cijelu odjevnu kombinaciju. A WIZARD OF EARTHSEA BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND DRESSING THE PART)

In this post, I'll share my review for A Wizard of Earthsea , a novel by Ursula K. Le Guin. As is becoming a traditional on my blog, today we'll dig into reading and dressing styles, fashion and art. I'll try to match my outfit with my reading recommendation.  I'll show you how I would dress if I worked in a school for wizards!  Afterall,  I do work in a school and these two outfits are something I actually wore to work.  However, why am I mentioning wizards? Well, as the title implies -this novel is about a wizard. It's set in a wizard school specifically. Moreover, A Wizard of Earthsea actually predates the Harry Potter series. While we're on the subject, Ursula K. Le Guin wasn't really happy about the fact that she wasn't given her due when it comes to establishing a tradition of a wizard school. THE ISLAND OF THE MISSING TREES BY ELIF SHAFAK (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. I needed to emotionally process the story.   The Island of Missing Trees is   set in London and Cyprus.
