ART UPDATE: AN ACRYLIC PORTRAIT AND AN OIL PASTEL LANDSCAPE

Image
Lately I have been devoting most of my time and energy on making art. At times, it feels like  I have challenged myself to see how much art I can make. Anyhow, today I'll share two new art pieces to share with you: a portrait and a seascape. One is an acrylic painting (that would be the  portrait) and the other is an oil pastel drawing (seascape). Both of them were drawn on the mixed media paper. I don't have much to say about the art process itself.  I've basically used the same art brands I normally use for both. The oil pastels I used are from Russian brand Sonnet- the only oil pastels I have, I think. I don't think I've ever used oil pastels before I was gifted the Sonnet ones (by a friend, so #notsponsored) and I can't really compare them with any other brand. You can see some of my other acrylic paintings here  and some of my oil pastel drawings here  and here . I post my art pretty often on this little place of mine.  ANOTHER ART VERSION  ...

INSPIRED BY.... ANN AND SHEILA

Image
Hello there, dear visitors of this digital place I call my own! Today I'm back with two fashion sketches, in case yesterday's post wasn't enough. What can I say? I like fashion sketching and I have challenged myself to fill out my new sketch book as soon as possible, so why not have another Inspired by ... post? As some of you know, Inspired by... is a regular feature on my blog where I recommend and illustrate bloggers. This time I illustrated Ann from blog Polyester Princess and Sheila from blog Ephemera . The medium for both of these fashion illustrations is coloured pencils on paper (AF format) and I used a photograph reference from the above mentioned blogs (linked up above). Speaking of that, you can see Ann's outfit in more detail here and Sheila's outfit here  (links are to outfit posts).  MORE POSTS FROM THE INSPIRED BY... ILLUSTRATING DOLCE & GABBANA SPRING SUMMER 2021 COLLECTION- PART 2

Image
Hello, dear readers! How's life treating you? Today I'm back with more fashion illustrations inspired by Dolce and Gabbana runaway looks from Spring Summer 2021 collection. This is the second and possibly the final post about this 2021 fashion collection. I'm not sure will I be illustrating any more outfits from this D&G collection, perhaps five illustrations is enough. What do you think? When it comes to this collection, what I appreciated the most were the patchwork items, especially in suits and blazers, because that kind of tailoring requires some technical skills. I'm a big fan of patchwork so it was fun seeing all the patchwork suits and dresses. As you can see, I even illustrated one patchwork suit from this collection. This collection actually reminded me of one D&G collection from the nineties, worn by the iconic 90ties supermodels. Speaking of the nineties, I  wish runaway shows nowadays were not so serious. Do you remember how in the nineties the mode...

FASHION ILLUSTRATION, A PURPLE GOWN FROM VILLA VALENTINA SPRING SUMMER 2021 COLLECTION

Image
Hello dear readers! Today I'm back with another fashion illustration. As soon as I saw this gorgeous and dramatic indigo gown from Villa Valentina Spring Summer 2021 collection on Pinterest, I knew I had to illustrate it. I have never stumbled upon Villa Valentina clothes before. Honestly,  I have no idea who is behind this brand, but their new collection is absolutely stunning and I might illustrate it some more. Anyhow, back to the fashion illustration of the day. The medium is coloured pencils on paper ( link for the pencils not sponsored, just trying to be informative). It took me three minutes to sketch this Villa Valentina indigo gown with a pencil, but more than half an hour to colour it. Drawing ruffles takes more time than drawing some other fabrics, but I actually love illustrating ruffles. Special thanks to Youtuber Zoe Hong for teaching me how to do it better in this tutorial.    If you want to improve your fashion illustration skills, I would recommend t...
