I wear my paintings...Ja oblačim svoje slike....

Image
There is more than one way to show your paintings to the world. When it comes to painting on clothes, let me tell you it really isn't that much different from painting on canvas (and canvas is made of cotton just like this shirt) .  I've written about textile paints so many times, so not to repeat myself, feel free to check out the technique here ,  here  ,  here , here , and here . (I could  probably find a dozen more links, that's how often I posted about it. If anyone is interested, I can always put all of them in one post) This post is actually  a continuation of the one posted before the last post ( the interview). The outfit is pretty much the same, the only difference being the shirt I'm wearing. Summer is giving way to Autumn slowly, so carrying one long sleeved clothing item  in your bag is usually a good idea.

Interview with Pini Hamou

Image
Seeing his works for the fist time, I was mesmerized by their complexity, artistry, refinement, visual richness and abundance of meaning. Pini Hamaou is a brilliant photographer from Israel. He has kindly agreed to do an interview with me. To see more of his works visit his website .   1. As a photographer what do you find most challenging? As a photographer, it's important for me to move forward and to find new ways and techniques. I don't want to repeat myself. Usually we humans like to stay at our comfort zone, at places we know. The will to change is very important for our personal development. 2. Many of your photographs seem to have a message of some kind. What do you think good photography should convey? In my view a good photograph must create interest with the viewer. It must tell him a story, or pass an idea. The aesthetics of the picture is important, but more important is the idea behind it.   3. In your experi...

Split city (outfit post) / grad Split (odjevna kombinacija)

Image
On this particular day I was feeling rather melancholic and sad. A feeling that hasn't lasted very long, though when we feel that way it seems like it will last forever. Beautiful things often have the power to improve my mood and indeed my mood was greatly improved not long after these photographs were taken.  This time the beauty that made me feel better was the pearl of the sea i.e. Split city. I shall never grow tired of it. ...to be continued....

MAK (outfit post/ odjevna kombinacija)

Image
Haljina/ Dress: Mak, sandals/sandale: Peko, other/ostalo: no name, nije markirano I watched the spinning starts, grateful, sad and proud, as only a man who has outlived his destiny and realizes he might yet forge himself another, can be. Roget Zelazny, Otok Mrtvih These photographs were taken in front of my old elementary school. I used to be always late for class, despite the fact that I lived only 100 m away from the school. We were all late- all the little girls from my building because we would always wait for Neta- and she never got anywhere on time. Have you always noticed that in any group of young girls, one of them is always a princess (or perhaps better said a queen)? Fortunately, not very often does this reign results in something negative, as described in the...

Painting of the day/ Slika dana

Image
oil on canvas/ ulje na platnu This painting ended up as a gift intended to decorate the walls of my friend's studio (because I know that has enough paintings at home). It depicts island Hvar i.e. one spot on the island that is very dear to me.

Wear sneakers...vol.2 (outfit post)/ Nosite tenisice...drugi dio(odjevna kombinacija)

One thing you will notice in my hometown Split is the amount of graffiti. Many of them are dedicated to soccer club, which I don't mind as long as they're artistic or well done (that's how I feel about graffiti in general). Dress/ Haljina: Moda in ,  sneakers/ tenisice: Umbro, sunnies/sunčane: DM,   SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES- HOW I WORE THESE CLOTHING ITEMS BEFORE AND AFTER?  THE RED DRESS (moda in)-  previously worn  here  ,  here ,  here  , here with jeans  , here  and  here . Update from the future-  I'm still wearing this dress in 2025! 1) here  in 2015 I styled it with wedges and a summer striped baker boy hat.  2)   here  in 2015, I again style...
