DIY necklace / uradi sam ogrlica

Image
Today I'm presenting another one of my creations, this time a statement necklace. This floral dress you saw plenty of times on this little blog of  mine. Depending on accessories this dress can be both formal and casual. This time I went for the latter option and wore it with a denim vest that I have embroidered myself (I'm kind of proud of my skills with the needle in the embroidery department) and an old pair of mules. The yellow bag seeemed the perfect choice for this girly look (that or I'm too lazy to move stuff out of my bag so I end up wearing the same one for an entire  week).

Shoes are boring, wear sneakers (outfit post/ odjevna kombinacija)

Image
'Shoes are boring, wear sneakers', instructs the ad for converse sneakers. Point taken. I've worn sneakers quite often this summer and I plan to continue doing so. I've never actually bough a pair of converse sneakers but I've had plenty lookalikes over the years. I guess I just don't feel like spending more than 5 euros on a pair of sneakers made from denim. Sorry. ( I'd much rather buy a few more books to add to my home library.) Anyhow, wearing sneakers only makes sense. Not only are they comfortable but they have been fashionable for a while now (as you all undoubtedly know). In the summer they're very suited for those long walks and as it is still summer in Croatia and it will be until the end of this month (minus a few rainy days now and then) I say yes to sneakers!  This outfit  was granny approved. You see my grandmother said I should wear short dresses and skirts more often...and when they say old people are old-fashi...

Rusalka 2 (my painting/ moja slika)

Image
oil on canvas ulje na platnu The background is inspired by an actual landscape but only partly. The face, the eyes, the skin colour... It turned out exactly the way I wanted it to be. Rusalka 2 ( There is also a Rusalka 3 and if you want, I'll post that one as well).  The only problem is finding a proper place for it in my house... It's a sort of painting that draws attention to  itself. I just find it hard to find what is the right place for her. Any suggestions? If you scroll down, you'll find a collage on which you can see how the painting looked after I had worked on it for the first time. As you can see, it was pretty much finished. I only added another layer of colour and some finishing touches. In general, it's how I work with oil paints. However, to paint one old church in Starigrad, it took about ten attempts and I'm not even sure I'm sadisfied with it. Sometimes a painting is finished in a few days, sometimes it takes a few weeks... or e...

Split city (outfit post)/ Split (odjevna kombinacija)

Image
Again I'm posting old photos, in this case beach photos from the last summer (this year my health was so-so which resulted in almost no beach days). Nevertheless, I do really like these photographs so I've decided this is as good time as any to share them. Obviously this is a beach outfit (as you can guess from neon orange bikini straps) but this vintage LBD has served me well many times. In fact it has been washed so many times it is kind of changing its colour from black to dark grey. Great thing about Split is that you don't have to leave the city in order to find a nice beach. All the ones in the city are really lovely and the sea is always so clean.  Still, if you want absolute piece and quiet, choosing one of Croatian islands would be the right thing to do.However, if you like cities (and some people cannot do without them), remember that there are cities that have managed to find the balance between the natural and ...

That is the saddest thing ...Najtužnije je....

" That is the saddest thing when you lose someone you love- that person keeps changing. And later you wonder. Is it the same person I  lost? Maybe you lost more, maybe less, there are thousand things that come from imagination and you don't know which is which, which was true, which is false".
