ALL BLACK OUTFITS FOR STROLLING MOSTAR CITY

Hello readers! How are you doing? I've just finished uploading some of my new designs to my shop and now I'm ready to wrap this pre-written post up and share it with you. I do sometimes prepare and write my posts in advance (for example during the weekend). In this post, I shall share two more casual chic outfits  I wore for strolling Mostar city. Speaking of that, Mostar is the real star of this post. In fact, I'll share photographs of Mostar old city centre and famous bridge.  I organized them in collages so hopefully this post won't take long to load. You see, I think of everything (at least sometimes!).  All of these photographs were taken in Mostar city (on two different days). As you can see, these two all black  outfits are all about being comfortable and warm. I've been sharing mostly casual outfits lately because that is what I wore for hiking and walking.

THE STORY OF MY OUTFITS- HOW I WORE THESE FASHION ITEMS BEFORE?
I'm sharing two outfits with you today. It is basically the same outfit formula minus the accessories. In the outfit on the right I'm wearing basic black leggings with this turtleneck black dress, while on the outfit on the right I'm wearing flared leggings with the same dress. The flared leggings look like cord trousers (in fact I own a similar pair of cord trousers) but they are leggings. I always liked the combination of trousers and dresses so I love how easy it is to achieve that effect with these trousers. What else to say about these two outfits? Besides the choice of leggings, the only thing different is the accessories. I wore a beige cap and a mini brown bag with the outfit on the right and a baker boy hat and mini black bag on the right. Everything else is the same- down to doc martens I'm wearing.

OUTFIT TIPS FOR SIGHTSEEING MOSTAR OLD CITY CENTRE
My first advice to you would be to wear flats.  In fact, flats are a must when visiting Mostar historical city centre. As you can see in the photographs above, the pavements in historical part of Mostar city are made from stones. These lovely rocks were probably taken from the banks of Neretva river. As beautiful as they are, they're not easy to walk on.My second advice would be to dress for the weather. If you are visiting in winter, a nice warm puffer jacket or coat should keep you nice and cozy. While it is true that it's always cooler by the water, you probably won't be freezing on banks on Neretva river as winters here are pretty mild. Speaking of the weather, keep in mind that Mostar city (and this includes the old city) can be extremely hot in spring and summer time. Finally, if you plan on visiting religious buildings, remember to dress appropriately.

THE OLD BRIDGE IN MOSTAR, ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SYMBOLS OF THE CITY
What to say about the old bridge that hasn't been said before? Even city itself was named after the bridge. The Old Bridge in Mostar is possibly the most famous bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  It is a rebuilt Ottoman style bridge, dating back to the 16th century. It is easily recognizable and often referred to as Mostar bridge (or more frequently simply as Old Bridge). Many tourists visit the Old Bridge area, so you can find many restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops at every corner. This beautiful historical bridge is one of the trademarks and symbols of Mostar city. The area around Old Bridge is a wonderful mix of Western and Eastern architectural influences, heightened by the ever present Mediterranean atmosphere and vibes.

In Mostar city you can see the historical architectural legacy left by the Ottoman (mostly 15/16th century) and Austrian Hungarian Empire (19/20th century) as well as by the other bigger and smaller cultural and ethical groups that lived or still live here. The view from the Old Bridge is stunning. I'm always writing about how gorgeous Neretva river is, but combine its beauty with the historical part of the city and you get something truly epic. The beauty of Mostar city never ceases to amaze me.

As always, thank you for visiting! Have a great week ahead!

  1. Hi
Welcome back, I see you are still mourning, for the black color of your looks, when my father died in 1996 I didn't dress in black I was the first person to do it here where I live, I was criticized a lot, but I I adored my father and did everything I could when he was alive! Dressing in black wouldn't bring him back, I mourned in a more introspective way! Now nobody wears black!
As always you are a wonderful city guide and with proof given with these beautiful photos of Mostar! I think you look very elegant with the leggings with the dresses!

    1. I agree, wearing black doesn't mean anything on its own. How rude that people critized you...and now as you say most do the same. People who criticize others for wearing or not wearing black are silly. Everyone can decide for themselves how to mourn. Most people don't wear black here anymore either but I wear it because I want to.

    2. You live in such a beautiful area!! I want to take more photos to add to my blog but I don't have a good camera right now. Your photos look gorgeous. I also didn't know until now that you're on Red Bubble too! I love your portraits. They remind me of the portraits by the Italian artist, Modigliani.

    3. Thank you. I do like Modigliani's portraits. I don't have a professional camera either, we just use our cellphones. The light here is generally good so it easier to take clear photographs- benefits of Mediterranean climate

  2. Both awesome outfits - I'm not used to seeing you in so much black, but sometimes that's where our hearts take us! I also enjoy a good black outfit once in a while.

Mostar is such a beautiful city! That bridge is amazing.

    Have a great week, Ivana!

  10. You do all-black outfits so well, Ivana! I find myself hardly wearing any black at all, unless it is black with a print. And to think I wore black almost exclusively at a particular time in my life.
It's always a joy to join you on your strolls through Mostar. It's such a picturesque city! xxx

  13. These outfit formulas look good and seem quite foolproof. Flats or comfortable walking shoes are definitely the way to go if you plan on any type of exploring. Mostar looks as charming as ever.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
