20 WAYS TO STYLE DR. MARTENS BOOTS IN AUTUMN AND WINTER

Hi there. Are you in mood for another 'X ways to wear an Y item posts?' I hope you are because that's what we will be doing today and the item in question is my old pair of doctor Martens boots. Combat boots are trending right now. Now, the reason why I haven't picked up a pair  (or felt the need to) is because I already have everything I need in my closet: an old  pair of doc Martens boots. I bought this pair when I was an adolescent so that means....wait a minute and let me do the math. I'm 35 now, so that is twenty years. Why, why, time really flies doesn't it? Ten more years and this pair will be vintage.  Crazy to think that, isn't it? Naturally, in the twenty years I owned this pair, I wore them more than 20 times. However, I don't have all of those outfits photographed. Moreover, I decided to stick just with autumn and winter outfits. Believe it or not, I was also known to wear doc Martens in summer. Why they are perfect choice for summer festivals, much better option than converse sneakers if walking over broken glasses is a concern- and at summer festivals it sometimes is. I remember at least one summer outfit with them being published on my blog, but as I said this time I'm sticking with colder weather outfits. Anyhow, scroll down to see 20 outfits ideas with dr. Martens boots. Follow the links if you want to see more images of the outfit displayed, they are all links to my older posts.

  2. Hello dear Ivana,

How you doing? I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

I see you are more than ready for this season and just saw your comment on my blog, it is so curious that our minds were connected and that you are talking today about the trend of combat boots too.... perfect for the season but also a classic staple that could be used not only as a trend but for many years ahead!

They look great, also with casual looks and with more elegant options! I love their versatility and the fact that they could last for years!

  3. Dear Ivana,
I can still remember the time when "everyone had to have" DocMartens boots ;-) I also tried some back then, but since I have sturdy, short legs and also small feet, they did not fit well and looked not beneficial to me either. But this style suits you very much with your long legs - and I understand well that you used to wear your boots to festivals in summer - the style is just cool.
I lso want to thank you for your thoughtful words on my previous post. One could probably discuss the topic and its extensions for hours, days, weeks ...- sadly, because I think that ultimately most people want to live in a peaceful world ... Let's hope that there is no "from above" controlled action (by governments ) or that there are enough forces to counteract ...
    Hugs and happy weekend

I love boots, I always wanted to have a Doc Martens, it's my dream haha!
The number 4 look was my favorite, it was really cool. And wearing boots in the summer with dresses and skirts also looks great, I love it.
Ah, I haven't seen this Beautiful Mind movie yet, I was curious to see it.

    1. If you decide to buy doc Martens I recommend looking for a vintage pair because the ones are not as quality made as the old ones.

  11. They really can be such a versatile shoe! I love the compilation you've done here! It's cool to see the different ways you've styled them and also to see that every photo is a part of a memory of yours. I can't believe your Dr. Martens have been with you for so long! I, personally, have never owned a pair but I have heard only great things about them (after you break them in, of course). I have a pair of combat boots that I got and I've been wearing the heck out of them this fall lol. They're perfect for the rainy days I've been experiencing.

Thanks for sharing your pics with us doll!

As you've had them for twenty years, and they have undoubtedly been worn hundreds of times, this also proves their indestructibility! 21. I absolutely adore Dr Martens shoes! I had a pair as a teen which I adored- wish I still had them. 6 years ago, after a winter of getting soggy feet when I walked the mile to the station through winter, I invested in a pair of Dr Marten Joylyn boots in teal. They were WONDERFUL- comfy, kept my feet totally dry and they looked cool with dresses and trousers. They eventually started to wear out inside and I bought new leather insoles for them- then the heel cracked on one so they started to let the water in so I had to retire them for winter (but LOVE wearing them in Summer like you- as long as it's not wet, they are super for awkward terrain. Dr Marten discontinued Joylyn which I was gutted about but found a second hand pair in tan on eBay 3-4 years ago. Again, I had to replace the insoles but they have started to let in water this Winter so again, I am going to have to retire them on wet days as they were intolerable the other day- I had soggy feet all day and it made me feel miserable. Considering I've worn them practically every Winter day for 3 years, I have done well with them.. Luckily, in October half term, I bought a new pair of Austrian winter boots in Northumberland so they should keep me dry.

    1. you have done well indeed. Those Austrian winter boots sound great too. It is important to have a warm pair we can rely on in Winter.

  23. I have to admit that I've never been the biggest fan of Dr. Martens. They were just not very feminine for me. But you show me how cool they can look if you combine them well. And they are convenient and practical too ...

  24. I never like these clunkier boots until just a couple of years ago. Now I think they are great to add interest to an outfit. Yet I still don't wear them a lot. Thanks for this inspiration Ivana,

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
