WHAT TO WEAR TO A SUMMER WEDDING? A METALLIC DRESS OUTFIT PROPOSAL

Today I'm back with a wedding guest outfit idea. Summer hasn't officially started yet, but it sure feels like it has. If you're wondering about what to wear to a summer wedding, I'll give you some ideas. Let's start with an outfit I wore to a wedding party last Friday. As I already explained yesterday, I opted for a metallic dress. You already saw me wear this metallic wrap dress in a casual way, now you can see me wear it in a formal way. There is nothing easier than dressing up a metallic dress, just grab a clutch and a pair of heels and you're ready to go. Metallic and sequin dresses are a great choice for weddings, especially those of formal kinds. In Herzegovina, weddings are typically quite formal affairs. You're expected to get all dolled up, it would be a total faux pas to show up wearing anything resembling a casual outfit. Typically, the weddings parties in Mostar are more expensive, glamorous, luxurious and elaborate than your typical wedding party. Most weddings tend to be carefully planned with a guest list that can get as high as one thousand. There were around three hundred guests at this wedding, so it was a smaller wedding as far as weddings here go. I enjoyed it more for it, as I'm not a fan of huge weddings (smaller ones are always more intimate, right?)
There are many wedding saloons in Mostar and vicinity. I've been to all of them but this one. This was actually the first wedding I attended in wedding saloon Ljetnikovac Radobolja (not sponsored, I'm linking it up just in case you're interested in checking it out as it is not only a wedding saloon but also a restaurant). We had such a lovely time at this wedding, obviously not just because of the dreamy location but it sure didn't hurt. We enjoyed it a lot because it was a wedding of close friends, but the food was great and the music wasn't bad either. You know, my husband receives tons of wedding invitations, hence we don't always get to weddings together. Sometimes we have to split and go to different weddings just so that we don't disappoint anyone. It was fun being able to finally attend a wedding together. I took a lot of photographs because this place (Ljetnikovac Radobolja) is truly gorgeous. Who ever designed this garden deserved an award! The wedding saloon is beautiful as well. I used a couple of photographs from their site in one of the collages bellow, the other photographs are my own. Have a look and let me what you think. Would you like to attend a wedding here? I want to visit this place again, maybe I'll schedule a romantic date here in the future.

A LAYERED NECKLACE LOOK TO PAIR A METALLIC DRESS

A few more words about my wedding guest outfit. I decided to go for the metallic chic. I choose a layered necklace look. I also wore a lot of bracelets, including a bracelet I got from my blogging friend Ely (I'll show a more detailed look of that bracelet some other time). My jewellery was a combination of different metallic, mostly gold and silver in tone. The clutch was gold as well. I was thinking about wearing golden sandals to complete the golden girl vibe, but I decided to opt for these black stilettos instead. I already broke this pair in, so I was comfortable dancing in it. Wedding guest tip: never wear new shoes to a wedding, especially if you're planning on dancing. I certainly danced the night away. We stayed until about four am and spend most of our time dancing.

If you're not sure about what shoes to wear, go for something classic like black or neutral pair of heels. Heeled sandals are another great solution for the summer. As long as they are comfortable enough to allow you to dance the night away. Speaking of shoes, I don't think one needs to wear heels to look dressed up. You can always find dressier models of flats. Personally, I do enjoy a good heeled shoe, especially for special occasions. Heels do a great job of elongating our outfits and giving us that long legs silhouette. Still, if heels are not your thing, opt for flats (or bring a pair of flats to change in later, lots of ladies do that).

MAKE UP AND HAIRDO TO PAIR A METALLIC DRESS

A good thing about choosing a statement dress is that it is often enough on its own. When choosing make up and hair style, it is good to take the cut and the design of the dress into consideration. The metallic dress I opted for was a v-neck cut wrap dress with 3/4 sleeves. As it often said, wrap dresses are flattering on most body types and a v-neck is always elongating. This, I feel, is a great dress for summer weddings. It is light enough for you not to get too hot in it, and it doesn't require a cover up. With air conditioning being quite strong that night, I appreciated a bit of sleeves. Layers are another great solution, but sometimes it is nice to just pick a dress that doesn't require layering. I was really happy with this wedding guest outfit. Not bad for a dress that cost me less than two euros. I think most hairstyles would look good with this outfit. Honestly, I didn't put much thought into hair and make up to go along with this wrap dress because I felt that the dress was enough on its own. I went for the typical red lip and smokey eyes look. I braided my hair because I think braids are simply perfect for special occasions. Hair and make up are always a good way to elevate our look. I'm not really good with make up, I generally do better with styling my hair. I actually enjoy styling my hair myself. How about you? Do you have any special occasion make up and hair style tips to share?
Thank you all so much for visiting, reading and commenting on my blog. Have a lovely day!

  6. Wow. Weddings are huge there! I think the largest I have been to was only about 200 guests. Couples spend a small fortune on that size wedding. This is another gorgeous dress. Your accessories and makeup are perfect. This venue is truly stunning! I love that wall of flowers/plants.

    1. Thanks dear. Yes, getting married with that many guests can be quite expensive, that is why it is customary to gift the newly weds with cash- the more, the better.
