A NEUTRAL GREY DRESS FOR A VISIT TO STARI GRAD

Image
Have I moved to Stari Grad? My recent posts seem to indicate so, but I'm still based in Jelsa. It is just that I love Stari Grad, so I visit it pretty often. It is only a five minute drive from Jelsa anyhow. I did consider renting here in Stari Grad when I initially arrived on island Hvar last year, but then I found something suitable in Jelsa. All for the best, because I still visit Stari Grad anytime I want.  Anyway, let me show you what I wore for my latest visit to Stari Grad. You know this grey dress is the unsung hero of my wardrobe. I reach for it very often, especially when I can't figure out what to wear to work. A neutral dress like this one looks great paired with a blazer. It is easy to dress it up and down. The knee length makes it appropriate for a variety of situations and occasions.  I have worn this grey dress for everything from hiking to conventions and fairs. It really is a magical neutral piece. That is why I decided to link up some of my older looks today...

TWO AUTUMN OUTFIT IDEAS WITH GRAPHIC T-SHIRTS

Image
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers. I'm back in Stari Grad. How's life been treating you? My work life has been draining to say the least, I've been working long hours but I won't complain as in today's time we should only be grateful if we have a job. Moving onto the subject of today's post: I'll show you two outfits featuring graphic t-shirt.  In fact, this is the garment I've been relying on lately: a printed t-shirt. Ever since the start of Autumn, I've been wearing a couple of short sleeved t-shirts printed with my original art. Graphic t-shirts are practical for Mediterranean autumn because it can still be quite warm here and really you never know when you'll need to take your blazer or jacket. I find graphic tees a really easy way to jazz up a look. These two t-shirts have been ordered from a local printer (as opposed to my Redbubble shop). Identical prints are available on t-shirts  here and here .  THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT: WEARING A...

VISIT STARI GRAD PLAIN, A FULLY PRESERVED ANCIENT GREEK AGRICULTURAL AREA

Image
Hello dear readers! My last post was from Stari Grad town but today I'm taking you to Stari Grad plain, a UNESCO protected area and a cultural good of Croatia. What is so amazing about Stari Grad plain? How about the fact that is a fully preserved ancient agricultural terrain. The agricultural activity in this field has been continuous for many centuries. When the Greek colonists came to Hvar island and settled in Stari Grad four centuries ago, they organized the plain according to their system. The land was divided into geometrical parcels/ units (chora) divided and bounded by stone walls.  The original Greek system has been preserved through centuries by hard working families who respected the original stone walls and boundaries. The Stari Grad plain has not only remained fully preserved agricultural land four centuries later, the agriculture itself has remained the same. Grapes and olive trees are still main crops grown here. I wonder how those Greek colonizers would feel if th...
