This one was inspired by  recent trends that I happen to fancy, so this illustrated outfit includes  lace up heels, plaid skirt and off shoulder blouse. They said that one shouldn't wear more than one trend per outfit. Well, rules are meant to be broken, right? This is something I would like to wear. Well, at least I know I will get the chance to wear a statement necklace like the one I illustrated. You see for the last few days I've been sewing and working on new statement necklaces, so that is how I know.  Sometimes the easiest way to get something you want is to make it yourself. I think I rather like this stone throne. Unlike the infamous Iron Throne (I'm referring to a fictional throne in a well-known literary world of George R.R. Martin), one doesn't need to fight desperately to keep it.  That iron one is highly desired and this stone one is not. Well, this stone is not really a stone throne, but it made me think of great many things. About nature and our relationship with it. About one bank manager who left his highly paid job and went off to live in natural parks of Canada or USA (one of those two, I don't remember exactly which one, I saw it in a documentary).  That ex bank manager said he is happier now, because he has never been surrounded with so much beauty and because every day he can find a new spectacular view.  For what does it mean to own to place? Can we really ever own a place when we don't know if we're going to live to see tomorrow? When we are not sure will that future we kneel before ever happen?  Mislim da mi se...

Travel. Has there ever been a word so poignant with meaning? For what it is to travel? Isn't travel a part of our daily lives ? Do we not all travel back when we remember? We travel in time, space and memory whenever we have a trandescental experience of anykind, whenever we rise to our higher potential as human beings. Our life is like one voyage after another. Often we aren't even aware of how much travelling we truly undertake. Our languages, however, remember. That is why we have so many idioms and metaphors connected with travelling in our vocabularies. Human languages are a fascinating field to study, because they can tell us so much about ourselves, about things that matter to us.  Writers, in particular, often recognize the value of this word 'travel' and explore its hidden meaning and its presence in our collective consciousness.  Putovanje. I love rereading books. Why? Perhaps because I know I will probably like them (once again). That certainty  (or high probability) makes them as precious as old friends. Furthermore, just like with old friends, we can always find something new and wonderful in them. If we keep our eyes open, we are bound to find something new to admire and love. What have I been rereading lately? I've been rereading Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad for the third time. That's what I've been doing with my free time lately. Once again, I found myself mesmerized by the descriptions of the sea. This writer is so good at capturing the spirit and the essence of the sea. Despite the fact that I was never a mariner, I can relate with his thoughts about the sea. Naturally, this novel is quite profound and not merely a collection of description but I won't get into that just now. No make up. Rainy and gloomy day. Even the ducks seemed depressed and not sociable as usual. Lots of layers. Nothing glam about this outfit. Yet I remember how happy I felt that day. I was so full of joy even if there wasn't a particular reason to smile about.  Maybe it was because I realized  there is always something to smile about. Life as such is a gift. A precious gift. Often we forget it. We forget what a blessing it is simply to be alive and to have someone to share it with. Welcome May! I'm not going to complain about the rain or the sudden drop in temperature, because it doesn't really bother me. After the rain, there always comes the sun. I wish you all a fantastic May!
