7 WAYS TO STYLE A GREY MIDI DRESS

Some of you might remember that I made this grey midi dress myself. The first real dress I ever made! Last year I invested into a fashion sewing class and I'm so glad I did. I learned so much about patterns and dress making. I mean there is still ton to learn, but I'm happy I've finally started learning about sewing because it is something I was always interested in. Besides my love for fashion, I'm also motivated by my interest in making fashion more sustainable. It is my dream to use vintage fabrics and clothes to make  new clothing items that would be completely sustainable. 

SEVEN WAYS TO STYLE A GREY MIDI DRESS WITH PUFFED SLEEVES 

1. WITH A TARTAN COAT, A PAIR OF HEELS AND A SCARF

I wore this outfit a few days ago and you could say that it is my first autumn styling this year. I got a lot of compliments for this look, everyone seems to love this dress. It is very satisfying being able to say I sewed it myself. I paired it with a tartan blazer I love (another piece from Uzor fashion house).

2. WITH SANDALS AND A DIY NECKLACE

I actually wore this dress once this summer but I forgot to show you this look. This dress is not exactly a summer one, it's more appropriate for office than for beach, but I proved that it can be styled for a summer night out as well. I wore it when we went for drinks in Jelsa city (island Hvar, Croatia). I felt pretty good wearing it and I was glad I packed it with me. 

3. WITH WHITE MULES, A HAT AND A BEACH BAG

This is another summer styling of this dress. I quite enjoyed wearing this. Yesterday we had a proper autumn day with rain and everything, but today it is again sunny. Summer in Herzegovina typically lasts much longer than in Bosnia, it's a different climate really. So, you might see more summer outfits from me. I will perhaps have to reach in my archives to show you more autumn ones. 

 4. WITH A SILK BLOUSE, TIGHTS AND SANDALS
Bellow you can see how I wore this dress last autumn. I love the combination of sandals and tights, it always looks so interesting. One of the things I love about this dress is being able to wear shirts under it. This dress looks fantastic layered. When I choose this pattern in a Burda, this is the exactly the kind of look I wanted to create. Something appropriate for most occasions, from work to special ones.

5. WITH HIGH HEELED BOOTS, A BACKPACK AND A BROWN COAT

Bellow you can see a winter outfit proposal featuring this grey midi dress. I love pairing this midi dress with heels to make it even more elongating. Bellow you can see how I paired it with heeled ankle boots, a warm faux coat and a backpack. I wore this outfit for a walk. In retrospective I can admit that maybe these heels aren't the ideal choice for strolling around, but I couldn't resist wearing them with this dress. For me heels are what make up is for others, they make me feel more dressed up. Once it gets colder, I pull out my heeled boots to make my outfits more feminine and chic.

6. WITH A BLACK COAT,A MINI BAG AND BLACK BOOTIES

Here you can see another autumn styling. Bellow you can see how I paired this grey midi dress with black heeled boots, a mini bag and a black coat. In terms of both cuts and colours, this is a very simple and neutral styling. As much as I love to experiment with fashion, sometimes nothing feels as good as a classical look. I think it's always good to have classical pieces in our wardrobe, it makes choosing what to wear much easier. 

 7. WITH BROWN BOOTS, A TOTE BAG AND A BROWN COAT
We are finishing this post with another autumn/winter outfit proposal featuring this dress. This was one of my favourite outfits last summer. These brown boots are so comfortable and I think they look very chic as well. Here I paired them with a matching brown coat and a chic tote bag. I think this is a great combo for this dress. Possibly because of its classical design,  I prefer to wear this grey midi dress with neutral and earthy colours.  Now, tell me how do you like this dress? Do you agree that it is very versatile?
