November Highlights & Things To Be Grateful For
Time flies so fast, doesn't it? Well, welcome December, it's lovely to see you. Before I get into December spirit, I do feel a need to say goodbye to November. Hence I'll be sharing some November highlights with you. It's been a while since I did a recap post of any kind. I'll try to keep it short and sweet, though. Just a reminder of some pretty sweet and happy moments.
MY NOVEMBER HIGHLIGHTS & THINGS TO BE GRATEFUL FOR:
- WORKING ON NEW ART
Finding enough time to make quality art is never easy, especially when it's not your main occupation, so sometimes I'm thrilled to even start a simple sketch. As I always say, you never know what a simple sketch might turn into. My favourite piece this month is definitely this watercolour painting, but I have so many new ideas I'm sure I'll manage to make some new watercolours some time soon. I'm also happy when I find the time to do some photography collages that combine my art with my photography (an example of that you can see in this November post).
I'm also (obviously) grateful to those two individuals who have supported my art by purchasing items from my Redbubble shop. I don't know who you are, but thank you for that. I have neither the time nor the budget to advertise and push my art out there, so when someone finds and buys my art despite of that, it is obviously a lovely confidence boost and something to be happy about. It's a nice surprise.

- MEETING SOME ADORABLE CATS
What is better than an autumn walk? An autumn walk during which you happen upon some adorable cats. I'm not sure to whom these cats belong to, presumably to the owners of house & garden visible in the background, but they sure are some very relaxed cats. The funny thing is that when I decided to take a photo of them, the fourth cat came running from the garden because she wanted to be be in the photograph as well.
BLAZER: VINTAGE/ JEANS: VINTAGE / EARRINGS:ZAFUL /BAG: VINTAGE/ BOOTS: ŠIMECKI |
This pair of jeans got a honorably mention in my November post (here) devoted entirely to styling jeans, so I won't talk much about them this time. I'll just say that I loved this outfit. It was super comfortable thing to wear. Plus, it's almost entirely vintage and you know how much I love vintage items.

- BRINGING AUTUMN INTO MY HOME
I already wrote about why I love autumn and I don't really have much to add to that. Nevertheless, I probably haven't mentioned how much I enjoy bringing autumn in my home. While I don't buy or make specific autumn decor as such, I do always try to make some simple arrangements or displays to celebrate the arrival of new season. I always collect a bit of dry leaves and things like that. I also enjoy making fruit arrangements. Well, I do that any season but autumnal fruit is especially gorgeous.
- CHILLING WITH SOME HOT BEVERAGES
I'm a keen coffee and tea drinker anytime of the year, but there is something to be said about enjoying a nice cup of warm coffee or tea indoors, especially when it gets a bit chilly outside. What feels more cozy than that? Honestly, I feel like enjoying a cup of a warm beverage can be a form of meditation. You know that feeling when you just sit with your cuppa and let your mind wonder. It can be very relaxing to allow ourselves a few minutes of peace and silence. Recently I read a fantastic article about the good side of boredom (and having nothing to do) by a fellow blogger Pablo at Hey Fungi (read it here) and that made me realize how important is to take some time to do nothing. Sometimes we do need to give our brain a rest in order to be more productive.
-FALLING IN LOVE WITH SPLIT CITY ALL OVER AGAIN
Because there is always something new to experience and enjoy there. Because it never gets old. Because I love the sea. Because it'll always be my hometown and I'll be happy to visit it again. If you are interested in visiting Split, you're welcome to check out my post about What To Do in Split city?
-DINNING AT PRESTIGE RESTAURANT IN MOSTAR IN CELEBRATION OF MY FIRST SEWING ACCOMPLISHMENT
I took my husband for dinner at Prestige restaurant last night to celebrate my very first fashion sewing and tailoring course degree. I'm really happy I took that sewing and tailoring course. I might sign up for intermediate and advanced sewing classes in the future, but right now it's exciting to be a beginner. For my final work I selected a midi dress to tailor and sew. I'm quite proud with how it turned out and I can't wait to wear it (and show it to you guys). I choose a lovely grey material that makes the dress seem more formal. I think it'll be simply perfect for work wear and special occasions.
Anyhow, we had a lovely time there. I do like the Christmas decor they have in this particular restaurant, it's so elegant and beautiful. I don't like to see Christmas decorations too early, but since yesterday was the last evening of November, I didn't really mind. In fact, I feel I'm all ready to experience the Christmas season. December is upon us, and it is high time to get into the festive spirit. I might make some Advent decorations soon enough. I didn't have time to dressed up because I went there directly from work so I was still in my boring black suit, but it was a lovely evening.

DeleteI look forward to seeing your gray dress. So awesome that you took a sewing class Ivana. You should definitely follow up with the intermediate course. I do sow but need to polish my skills. I was taught by my mom at a young age. I love all the things featured here today. Your store has tons of cool stuff and I hope to be making a purchase in the near future. Your autumn piece is gorgeous with all the warm colors. I love it. Two days ago as I walked into the classroom, I had to stop and take pictures of the beautiful bed of brightly colored leaves right outside my door. Such great art. I can't believe December is here either. Time sure does fly! I love your flare jeans by the way, very cool!

I do plan to follow up with an intermediate course, but first I want to buy my own sewing machine. I still haven't got one. Knowing how to sew is such an useful skill.

DeleteIt's wonderful to hear and see what's good in your life. Great progress on the art. Life is an uphill battle at times but it's important to see the positive, even in chaos. I used to be a men's bespoke tailor and designer so, of course, I think it's a great trade and skill to know how to sew. :) Have a great week ahead dear. x/M
