LAST MINUTE NEW YEAR GIFT IDEAS: THE ARTISTIC EDITION

Holiday season teaches us one important lesson: giving can feel fantastic. Isn't it so? If you feel like you haven't gifted enough or to you heart content this Christmas and you feel like giving more, you're probably looking for New Year present proposals. Today I'm back with some arty New Year gift ideas. If you're looking for some New Year shopping inspiration, you've come to the right place. I've put together a little selection of products (mostly from Redbubble) to help you decide. I've also left a link to the square neck dress I'm wearing in this post. Pairing a square neck dress with a shirt or a turtleneck can be a great idea for a New Year outfit, especially if you want to make sure you feel cozy and warm. Alright, now let's get back to theme of New Year presents. Do you shop for New Year presents? It is no so much a tradition where I'm from, and I don't do it every year, but sometimes I really enjoy buying presents for NY, especially when I haven't had the time to buy perfect Christmas gifts. New Year presents are also a good gift alternative for people who don't celebrate Christmas.

CELLPHONE, iPHONE AND iPAD CASES

As I already mentioned in one of my pre-Christmas posts, tech accessories are a pretty neutral gift option. You can easily give them to a coworker or an acquaintance. However, they can also be a personal gift. If you're confident in the taste of the receiver, why not opt for arty iPhone and Ipad cases? Here I've selected a few featuring my fashion illustrations, but you can also opt for more classical themes, neutral colours or motivational messages. I personally think that classical phone covers are always a lovely option. Moreover, motivational messages are a good choice as well (for example this one). Fashionista in me is crying for fashion illustration themed covers, though.

LAPTOP SLEEVES AND SKINS

Everyone has a laptop these days, so obviously laptop sleeves and skins are potentially good gift options. When choosing a perfect laptop sleeve and skin, try to consider the taste of a receiver. I obviously love laptop sleeves and skins featuring fashion art, but if you're choosing a laptop accessory for your dad, unless your dad works in a fashion industry, you might want to opt for something more classical. When choosing artistic laptop accessories, always think about what kind of art the receiver likes. If you're not certain, a classical landscape or panorama might be a good option.

INNER DECOR ITEMS

Inter decor items such as art prints, acrylic blocks, pillows and clocks can make for a lovely gift idea, especially when it comes to art lovers. Art can make your (or someone else's ) home looks more unique and cozy. When opting for artistic inner decor items, try to think about how they would fit into space. It is alright opting for visually consuming art if you don't mind it being the focus of the attention. However, if you already have furniture and art pieces that are eye-catching, it is better to opt for something more subtle. This is also the case when gifting someone an arty decor item. Try to imagine it in their space (if you know what their space looks like). If you aren't sure of their home decor, just try to choose some art that suits their personal style.

If watching home make over shows has taught me anything, that's the importance of pillows. In a way, pillows are an accessory to our furniture. In a same way that a fantastic necklace can liven up our outfit, so can a pillow make a room come to life. That is why I would argue that pillows are a pretty safe decor gift idea. Everyone loves pillows, right? A fun pillow can be a fun way to spice up a room. Plus, if the person who receives it doesn't find a place for it in his or his living room, they can always find a place for it somewhere. A person can't have enough pillows, right? Stationary can be a neat New Year present as well. Lots of people like stationary. I'm certainly one of them. I like to keep journals, scrap books, diaries and all kind of things.
