  Today I shall review The Moon is a Harsh Mistress , a novel by Robert A.Heinlein. I've read it many moons ago, but it stayed with me. As someone who studied literature, I've read a lot about revolutions. What I've read often terrified me. I've become vary of revolutions, my attitude to them becoming even cynical. What education taught me with its history lessons, my life seemed to confirm. Nevertheless, as  cynical as I have become about revolutions, this novel managed to warm my heart.  “Revolution is an art that I pursue rather than a goal I expect to achieve. Nor is this a source of dismay; a lost cause can be as spiritually satisfying as a victory.” This story about Loonies (residents of Luna i.e. the Moon) rebelling against Earth government is so well written it is really a crime to miss it. Today  I'll review Starship Troopers , a science fiction novel written by Robert A. Heinlein. Published in 1959, Starship Troopers is considered to be one of Heinlein's best known works. It also happens to be the first novel I read from this author. I was an adolescent (or even younger) when I picked it up. What impressed me the most was the way this book encouraged critical thinking. The plot was interesting and the characters endearing, but it was the philosophical aspect of this book that really got to me. Since then, I've read many works by Robert A. Heinlein, but this novel still holds a special place in my heart. When I look back to all the works by Robert A. Heinlein that I have read, I can say that my favourite thing about them remains the way they encourage critical thinking.  Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't shared my review of this novel yet.  Hello dear readers and friends, it's Friday and that means it's time for another FRIDAY FASHION ILLUSTRATION feature.  I don't post every Friday, but I do my best to keep the tradition going. I started this feature years ago!  Today I'll share two portrait sketches in my 'fashion illustration' style. The medium for both of them is watercolour pencils on paper. As you might know, I often turn to this medium when I want something done quickly. It's not a medium I've mastered, but I do enjoy it.  When it happens that I don't have the time for art, I make sketches. Sometimes  a quick sketch can lead you places. Sometimes it is a dead end. You never know until you try, don't you? Anyhow, quick sketches might be all that I'll be doing in foreseeable future.  In my last post (on Friday), I wrote about protecting one's art against AI.   Not that I'm an expert on the topic, but it is an issue that deserves attention.
