Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! Welcome to another post in the Fashion Illustration Friday category.   As you might have expected, today I will show you some new fashion illustrations of mine. Moreover, I will briefly comment on advantages of certain mediums.  Before we get to that I will also tell you how I ended up painting these illustrations on wooden boards. We will start with two fashion illustrations that I painted with acrylic paints (royal talens #notsponosored) on leftover hardboards. This is the first time I painted on such a surface. Naturally, you can buy hardboard for painting in art shops,  but you can also try up-cycling and paint on hardboards, wooden boards,  planks and scrap wood of any kind.  One day it occurred to me that someone might have some leftover hardboards or wood boards. Today I will review Il piacere (Pleasure),   a novel by Gabriele D'Annuzio (1863 -1938), an Italian writer who held an important position in Italian literature in late 19th and early 20th century.  Gabriele D'Annuzio was a controversial figure and is seen by some as a forerunner to Fascism. Personally, I don't see the point in avoiding authors that are deemed controversial if their writing can be useful or educating. I sometimes feel like today we are living in Fahrenheit 451 society, where people are just looking for excuses not to read. Not that I would recommend this novel to everyone, mind you. I imagine that many a modern reader will probably struggle to understand the historical context of this novel. Historical and classical novels usually take an acquired taste and that is even more true when we speak of works that fall into Symbolism, Aestheticism, Gothic or Decadent literary category. Since I have discovered Stanislaw Lem, a Polish author of science fiction, I've just kept reading more of his works. I have  already reviewed three Lem's novel on this little digital place of mine: Eden, The Invincible and Solaris . Today I will review the fourth: a novel about a man who returns from the stars only to find his home changed so much,  it doesn't feel like home anymore. It's time for another FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY (i.e. a regular feature on my blog where I post my fashion illustrations). I don't post every single Friday, but every month you can expect at least one or two posts in this category. Fashion illustration is something that I have always enjoyed and still do.  Even when I was a girl, I would fill my sketchbooks with fashion illustrations and sketches.   Over the years, my fashion illustration style has evolved together with my art.
