HVAR TOWN (SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW AND SOMETHING BLUE)

Image
It's time for me to share another visit to Hvar town with you. These photographs were taken during a weekend stroll some time last March before the epidemic thing. I only got around to sharing this visit to Hvar town today, though. Today I'll share something old and something new with you.  There is a lot to see and do in Hvar town, from stunning historical sights to renewed luxurious  hotel resorts. Moreover, Hvar town is simply perfect for strolling. Indeed, the walking areas and pathways on both sides of the city are stunning, with lots of tropic and Mediterranean greenery.  Hvar city is a popular tourist spot for a number of valid reasons. Scroll down to see what I have prepared for you this time.  HOTEL AMFORA There was some gardening work going on around hotel Amfora  when we visited in March, so curious creatures that we are, we popped for a view. BEAUTIFUL BEACHES NEAR ARKADA HOTEL STARI GRAD

Image
Some time last month, we decided to pay Arkada hotel in Stari grad (on island) Hvar a visit. Arkada hotel is quite visible from the spot where the ferry docks, being right across the bay.  Every time I would wait for the ferry I could see this white hotel standing out against the green pine forest that surrounds it. This white hotel always looked kind of ethereal to me. So, naturally I was always curious to see it. Since I'm based on island Hvar, I decided to pop by for a quick view. Obviously, the hotel Arkada isn't open right now. It might be open during the summer season but nothing is certain with this coronavirus thing. I'm not sure is it normally open this time of year either. At any rate, it wouldn't have been open with this virus thing. We stopped for a quick view and then explored the bays and beaches near the hotel. As I already told you, I'm taking this mission to show you the most beautiful bays on island Hvar very seriously. There are several lovely bay...

Image
As many of my blog readers know, I'm quite fond of reading classics. Today I decided to put together a list of  some of my favourite North American  novels. Most of the books on my list are classics but I also included a few modern North American novels. The location for the photographs is Vrboska (island Hvar, Croatia), more specifically the area near beach Soline. I won't talk much about this sporty & chic styling as I have already linked up all of these items in my previous posts. Nothing is new about this styling, just another example of me successfully shopping my closet. These photographs were taken back in March, but I haven't got around to posting them before. For some reason, I felt they might serve well to accompany one of my reading recommendation posts.  NORTH AMERICAN NOVELS WORTH READING  (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER) SISTER CARRIE BY THEODORE DREISER Sister Carrie is hands down the most underappreciated American novels of all times. It's an a...
