 Today I'll be sharing another quick post and this will be my last outfit post for this month. Tomorrow I'll do a little January recap and that'll be that for this month. The outfit I'm sharing today is a casual one. A pair of jeans and biker boots- it doesn't get more casual than that. Besides this casual winter outfit today I'll also be sharing a few photographs of my lovely home town. Just a few though.  This outfit I wore for one of those rare walks by the sea last year. I had spend the last Autumn in Split, but most of the time I was either in and out of hospitals or in bed so I didn't get to enjoy my home town that much. Because of my health condition of the time, walks were a rarity. There were a few of them, however, and they made me see how precious beauty can be. Needless to say, they  reinforced my love for the sea. I do love the sea. I will never forget how happy I was to be able to go for a stroll by the sea that time. It's the little thing...

As you can see, I'm still into coloured coats. What are you opting for this Winter? I love to see coats paired with dresses and skirts, there is something very feminine about that. However, there is also something to be said about a classical pants and coat combo. Which one do you prefer? So far, this Winter I've been opting for both. I was thinking of perhaps getting another winter dress. I like to wear dresses in any season, but in the colder months even more so, as they seem to be able to make any outfit appear more dressed up. It can be tricky getting that dressed up look when one is trying to stay warm, but a comfy dress (preferably from a thick material) can be a very practical choice as it can make us feel both stylish and comfortable. STEP 1. - GET A JAR If there is something I love, it's DIY projects. If there is something I love even more, it's easy DIY projects. So, today I'm sharing something of the sort. I trust this one is pretty self-explanatory. The old grab a jar and plant flowers and or plants in it trick. As simple as it gets, but it sure works like a charm. All you need is a jar. Alright, you also need dirt and a plant, but that goes without saying.  STEP 2. -CLEAN IT AND REMOVE STICKERS IF THERE ARE ANY Well, ideally you should remove the stickers (if there are any) and clean the jar before you plant the plants but this time I hurried things a bit.  I had planted the plant before I cleaned the stickers. This  was not a good idea for obvious reasons ( I had to wash it in the sink with the plant already in there). Still, all is well that ends well, right?                             ...

I've been painting all my life and I still feel like I have so much to learn. That's the thing about painting, it's so full of possibilities and there are so many different mediums out there that a part of you always feels like a beginner, even when you have degrees that prove otherwise.  Painting, sometimes it  feels wonderful and sometimes frustrating, but  I guess that what they say is true, when you love something, you find time for it. Lately I've been working on some classical themes, looking up to 16 century painters and perhaps also trying to interpret their works in my own way. Today I'm sharing two recent works of mine. They are not reproductions ( I do enough of those at art courses), but they are inspired by classical paintings.  1. Happy Sunday darlings! How are you doing? As you can see, I'm still working hard on improving my illustrating skills, always trying out new things and drawing more and more in the process. I do aspire to to polish my fashion illustrations. As much as I enjoy drawing imaginary outfits (i.e. designing clothes), I find drawing real outfits to be just as fun. In addition, I think that by trying to portray real clothing items, things we wear and actually know, we can improve our fashion illustration skills because you know- 'draw what you know'. Alright, I'm not sure is that actually a saying but  if there is 'write what you know', why shouldn't there be 'draw what you know'?  So, here is an outfit I actually wore. I have another quick post for you, a post in which I'll be sharing a few photographs of my dear Split city and an outfit of the day. I already wore a similar outfit here . This short black coat is a favourite of mine, probably because it is so easy to style. This time I paired it with a red hoodie for extra warmth. The boots I wore have high heels, but comfortable ones, so this styling is stuck somewhere between casual and dressed up. It is not exactly dressed up, but it is not entirely casual either- that could perhaps be said of majority of my outfits. I liked to mix feminine items with casual ones. Some might call it casual chic and I wouldn't mind. I suppose that I like to have fun with clothes, but I don't like to suffer for fashion. My style is probably a reflection of that. Today just a quick post, sharing my art. The medium is watercolour on paper. I'm not sure how I feel about this painting. I have a feeling like something is missing but I can't quite figure out what. I will probably have to work on this idea a bit more.  Maybe I need to add a background? Lately I've been finding inspiration in classical paintings more than anything, mostly in the work of sixteen century painters. It is amazing how accomplished they were. I do honestly feel we have a lot to learn from the classics.  I took part in another art course (my third one) last year and perhaps I will prepare a post about it one of these days. As soon as the new art course starts (this February), I will probably sign in again. I feel very comfortable using oil and acrylic paints, but I need to work more on my watercolour skills.
