a little place to call my own (art and fashion blog)

A few weeks ago I read  Daughters of Fortune  by Tara Hyland (her site  here ). My opinions about this novel are divided. I can't say I disliked it, but I found it lacking. However, compared with similar novels, it is actually pretty good. The novel is badly written, but its story has definite potential. Moreover, it is very fast paced which is essentially what keeps it from being boring.  Descriptions of characters are terrible, they seem to be inserted by force, but characters themselves are potentially very intriguing, especially the leading ladies. What a shame that the stereotypes almost reduce them to caricatures at times.  Fortunately, only at times. The characters do develop with time in a way that is quite realistic. The protagonists of this novel are three sisters that are very different one from another and this is something Tara handled quite well.  What is more, as the novel develops, the character developments can be felt in the protagonists ...

Those of you who read my blog regularly know about my 'Inspired by' feature. It dates back to my early day of blogging. Being that it is December and all that, I decided to do a little recap of this year and I must say I'm suprised. I forgot how many illustrations of fashion bloggers I did! All in all, I  published 30 illustrations of fashion bloggers on my blog this year. I painted even more, but some I didn't manage to photograph and post here yet. S obzirom da je prosinac i tako to, odlučila sam napraviti mali pregled ove godine i moram reći da sam iznenađenja. Zaboravila sam koliko sam ilustracija modnih blogerica napravila! Sve u svemu, objavila sam trideset ilustracija modnih blogerica na blogu ove godine. Naslikala sam ih čak i više, ali neke još nisam uspje...

Split city. Everyday I see something new in this city, something I haven't noticed before. I can't even describe on how many levels it inspired me. Perhaps I'm still not fully aware of what it means to me.  Grad Split. Svakoga dana u ovom gradu vidim nešto novo, nešto što nisam prije primijetila. Ne mogu ni opisati na koliko me razina nadahnjuje. Možda čak ni sada nisam posve svjesna koliko mi znači.
