a little place to call my own (art and fashion blog)

I have made this necklace using satin cord, thread, old Christmas cookies, acrylic paint and nail polish. This photograph is the only occasion I have worn it for because I had given it away as a present just few days I after I had completed it. That happens pretty much with all the jewelry I make, I give it away as soon as I make it. Over the years I have left only a few pieces for myself but that only makes them more special.  From all the things I make, the canvases are the only things I have hard time parting from. Ovu sam ogrlicu napravila koristeći satensku traku, konac, stare božične kolače, akrilne boje i lak za nokte. Ova fotografija je jedina prilika za koju sam je nosila jer sam je poklonila par dana nakon što sam je napravila. To se događa gotovo svom nakitu kojeg izradim, poklonim ga čim ga napravim. Tijekom godina ostavila sam za sebe samo par komada, ali zato su mi posebni. Od svega što izrađujem, slike na platnu su jedino od čega se  nerado rastajem.

I took this photo a while ago. I think in spring a few years back. Today it's rainy again, I have a lot of things to do so...I'm posting it because I feel I need some positive energy (and maybe you do to). Sometimes photography brings back those memories that we seek, but sometimes our mind has the last word. Uslikala sam ovu fotografiju prije nekog vremena. Mislim da je bilo u pitanju proljeće prije par godina. Danas je ponovo kišno, imam puno toga za obaviti, pa sam je se prisjetila jer mi treba malo pozitivne energije (a možda i vama). Ponekad nam fotografija vraća one uspomene koje bi željeli, ali nekad naš um ima zadnju riječ.

After the rain comes the sun. Today was sunny that's for sure. I enjoyed having cofee with my mum and nephew and taking a few snapshots in the process. My nephew came up with an ingenious alternative ending for Snow White yesterday (which as you can imagine made us laugh many times today). Apperantly my little nephew got tired of damsels in distress and decided that the prince will walk pass the sleeping Snow White completely ignoring her. Why? to go off and marry the evil queen..."and they lived happily ever after",or so he claims. Truth be told he heard the editer verson of the faity tale from me (the one in which the Snow White is only sleeping) but still interesting that he favours the stepmother (she is more beautiful then Snow white, he claims Why? Thank God it is Friday! I'm not only looking forward to this weekend, I desperately need it!
