making of...pravljenje...

Image
Looks like this is going to be a DIY week because it seems to be all I'm writing about (and I'm breaking my rule of not posting more than once a day). Firstly, I want to share with you this collar necklace...that thing around my neck, I've made it---and collar inspired necklace I chose to call it.( I plan to do a DIY post about it pretty soon.) Secondly, this is my new painting of the island Korčula in Croatia. What do you think? I hope that I have done justice to this amazing place.

How to make a vase out of used shampoo bottle?/ Kako napraviti vazu od prazne boce šampona?

First, I'll just say thank you for your sweet comments. As promised there will be some DIY post. This first one is not really related with fashion, but with decorating. I think it is pretty neat and environmentally friendly.  I've been obsessed with recycling from as along as I remember. I hate when things go to waste and I love a good challenge...and that is all you really need if you want to connect art and recycling. For this  DIY project you will need:  1. an empty shampoo bottle 2. acrylic paint (in this case you only need the brown one) 3. a bit of paper and paper towel 4. some kind of cereal (I have used barley but you can use rice or whatever) 5. a bit of nail-polish to add a finishing touch 6.  a bit of something (anything decorative or shiny might do the trick) to tie a bow. The procedure:  - First paint the bottle with thick layers of paint and immediately apply a bit of  paper towel to get a nice textu...

Modna ilustracija: nadahnuta plavom /Fashion illustration: inspired by blue

Image
It's time again for some of mine fashion illustrations. This time I was inspired by one particular colour: blue.  Isn't it interesting that in English language this colour stands for sadness? Why do you think it is so? I'll keep this post short but just to let you know... I'm preparing some DIY posts for you, hope you'll like them.

DIY (outfit post) / napravi sam (odjevna kombinacija)

Image
about the outfit: The outfit I'm presenting is all about DIY. This dark blue mini I accidentally burned while ironing so I had decided to cover the stain with lace. It worked like charm, the only problem is that I'm afraid the mini is a bit short (what do you think?)so I don't wear it often.  The necklace was created in a moment of inspiration when I've decided that to best way to use a wire that fell out of my bra (don't you hate when that happens?) is by doing something creative with it. This tee with stripes I bought in Acireale about 7 years ago and I remember I paid it one euro in a china shop. I have a good memory or....perhaps I just love stories (as I explained in the last post, I love when there is a story that comes with an item of clothing.                                                         ...

Blue (outfit post)/ Plavo (odjevna kombinacija) Mostarsko blato

Image
Today for a change, I'm actually posting a look that I have worn today. (This morning to be more precise). I went for a swim at this place you can see in the photographs (in the vicinity of Mostar). As far as the clothes goes,  everything (but the brand new flip flops) is inherited from mum, which means probably 80ties. Sustainable fashion files- How I wore these items before? sporty style/ sportski stil

Who would have known that a dog can influence your style? Since I had my little she-wolf (as I like to call her) I have started wearing sneakers more often. This is a breed that can help you stay physically active. When I take her for a walk there is always a lot of running and jumping involved. She is growing so fast and already she is very muscular. When there are people around, I always keep her on a leash not because there is any risk of her biting anyone but because I don't want to frighten anyone. She is just a puppy, 3 months old, a baby really, but because of her size she is already making people nervous.

My creations (inspired by blue) / Mojih ruku djelo(nadahnuta plavom)

Do you know that I make jewelry? I haven't written much about it on the blog but perhaps in the future I will. I might do some DIY posts (as well as write about different techniques) if you're interested. Anyhow, today I'm presenting you with a little sample of my work: two of mine necklaces that are inspired by the colour blue. The first one has hand painted flowers made from fimo and that one can be worn during winter months as well, white the second one is distinctly for summer, the focus of it being natural materials (stones and shells I have collected on the beach). Both of them are very light on the neck and easy to combine with different clothes. I'm not sure  they can be called statement peaces, as they are of medium size, but they are definitely unique. Until now, I have never repeated myself, every necklace I have made is unlike any other I have made. Naturally, in the future I might do it, for example I might design a particular necklace that I like ...
