HOW TO STYLE WHITE JEANS WITH A MAXI DRESS FOR SPRING? OUTFIT PROPOSAL

How to create a feminine and trendy outfit with white jeans for spring? I'll try to answer that question with an outfit proposal and some tips. Monochrome, neutral and all white looks are trending right now, but florals for spring are timeless. If you want to join these two trends together, why not pair your white jeans with a maxi white floral dress? A floral maxi dress will always have those lovely bohemian vibes and it will automatically make your outfit more feminine. Moreover, if you want your jeans to be more visible, you can always pick a slit maxi dress or a transparent one. If you want to make your outfit more trendy, don't forget to pick up some trendy accessories, like a scarf, a wooden bag, small frame sunglasses and a pair of heels. Bows are another thing that's trending, so why not choose heels with a bow?

If you're opting for a dress with jeans, a good way to wear the scarf trend would be to tie it around your pony tail. That way the scarf won't take the attention from the dress and your neck will be free to don some accessories (layering necklaces is the next big thing). Accessories are always great for achieving a more trendy and relevant look. For a cleaner look, make sure your accessories match the floral print on your white floral dress. For example, this white floral maxi has dark orange and blue details, that match both my scarf and the beige/brown details on the shoe. Wooden and straw accessories go well with everything, and you'll never go wrong with a bag made from natural materials this spring.

WHY IS SHOPPING OUR CLOSETS IMPORTANT?

Nothing is really new in this outfit. I've had all of these items for a while. The only relatively new thing is this dress that I got in a collaboration last summer but I have already worn it a couple of times, so it got some wear. I'm pointing this one because I do think you can look trendy without shopping and spending money. Not saying that you should try to look trendy, but if you enjoy playing with trends, it is worth noting that it can be done by shopping your closet. That's the more environmentally friendly option. For me trends are a nice way to find some inspiration. Sure, when there is a trend that is everywhere, I can get bored out if, but generally speaking I think trends can be fun. Today there are 100 micro trends per season, so it is not hard to find something 'trendy' in our closet? Plus, shopping less is not only good for our wallets, it also helps the environment. Look at it this way, if you buy less items just because they are trending, you'll have more money to invest into other things. Maybe there is a trip you're saving for or a designer bag? Additional benefit of shopping our closets is that we'll get to know the content of our wardrobe better that way. To maximize your closet, you really should take the time and see what you've got in there.

THE WOODEN BOX BAG TREND

If you ask me, the best trendy bag is the one you already have in your closet. Instead of shopping for new box bag, I found this one in my home. To be honest, it's not a bag at all. It's just a box. Yes, a wooden box. It's the box I keep my sewing tools in. Not the only box I keep my sewing tools in, but one of the main ones. So, now you know. I'm a big fan of not only shopping our closets, but anything in our home. Before you buy anything that is trending, always look around your home. You might already have the trendy 'it' thing and not realize it at all. Recently I was in a designer store and I saw bags just like this box, and I thought to myself- why buy something I already have? I won't blame you if you do decide to buy one of those bags, for they are really cute. Plus, those wooden box bags can be used for storage after the trend dies out. It doesn't hurt to think about environment, because we all know that fast fashion is damaging it. That is why I'm always cheering for shopping one's closet.

How do you like this styling? Do you like wearing white jeans? Do you agree that pairing them with heels and a white dress will make them more feminine? This pair is vintage, and unless I'm mistaken the cut is masculine. I'll need to check the buttons to make sure, but I think these are actually men's white jeans. I often wear men's pants because I like the cut. I never actually bought a pair of boyfriend jeans, I always just stole them from my significant other. I love to steal his vintage pieces.

That would be all for today. As always thank you for reading and visiting. Have a lovely day!

  1. Such a fun way to wear a maxi dress! I've often thought of leggings under my maxi dresses for winter, to keep warm, haha! but I've never tried jeans under a dress before :)

Hope your week is going well so far :) It's a crazy busy week here!

  4. Great! This Outfit looks very cool, dear Ivana! Years ago I had a (red) maxi dress with a slit, but I don't have it any more - what a pitty! (The dress was too tight for me ...) I'm afraid I don't own any maxi dress that would look as good on a pair of pants as yours...

  9. Hello Ivana, thank you for your comment on my blog! What a stylish outfit you're wearing here. I do wish I would suit a pair of white jeans like you do! A fabulous print on that maxi dress! And how cute is that sewing box used as a bag? I have, in fact, a similar sewing box I 'm using as a bag! Why spend money on things we already have in our wardrobes, eh? xxx

  14. You showcase this absolutely beautifully Ivana. I've tried a dress over jeans before one time it turned out okay but the other time it wasn't so great. Finding the right combination of the two makes all the difference which is why I agree, it's great to shop your one closet!

  20. The proportions of this outfit are so lengthening. I used to pair dresses with jeans all the time but i stopped doing it. You have reminded me to try this look again. I love the idea of going beyond shopping your closet to shopping your home for fashion. It's so smart and sustainable at the same time!

  28. I love seeing white jeans being paired in different outfits! Oooh, I didn't know the pony tail look would be a big bonus with the overall look. It is neat to see the scarves being used to tie hair up. It is hard to keep up with trends but we need ot find something that works with us. I haven't seen wooden box bags until now! They actually look cool. I love your outfit!
