Watercolour & Oil Paintings: My Art Lately

Today I'm sharing two relatively new paintings with you. The one on the right (the lady with green hair) was a bit of an experiment. I was trying something new with watercolours, trying to free style it, I guess. I do a lot of portrait paintings, but I don't do them with watercolour that often. I'm not sure about this one to be honest, but I do like the colours.  How do you like it? Do you think I should try to make another one like this one? I do want to make more time for watercolour portraits, but I have so many art projects, it is hard for me to find time for everything.

The other painting (the one on the right) is a quick fashion illustration  of a blue swimsuit that reminds me of this watercolour painting of mine. Perhaps I'm repeating myself a bit? I just realized that I have quite a few illustrations of blue swimsuits. It would be fun to dig into this subject a bit more. We'll see. Lately I've been working mostly with acrylic paints, but I might do some watercolour paintings. Do you have a preference when it comes to a medium? I can't say that I do. If I had to pick only one, I would go for oil paints, because (for me personally) they have that extra special something, but I love exploring different mediums.

Watercolour Paintings: My Art Lately

Finally, there is  another portrait painting I want to share today. While I was browsing through my art collection, I came across another redhead. The medium for this one is oil paint on cardboard. It's been a while since I last painted with oil, I can't wait to get into it again. I love how this painting turned out, so as you can imagine, I'm pretty happy about not losing it during my move last year. I was kind of worried I did but as you can see I found it again. I'm not sure have I shared it before, perhaps I did, perhaps I didn't.  Anyway, that would be all for today. I have a lot of new art waiting to be shared, but I thought I'll shared these first. How was your weekend? Are you looking forward to the new week?

  1. I think watercolour is tricky to play around with, mind you I've zero skills with art but I think you should do more water-colour paintings. You could only get better, right? xx

  14. Your watercolor free style paintings are so alive and vibrant. I really enjoy how the colors come alive. I hope you will do more paintings using this medium or even mix it up with the acrylics and oil paintings. Colors really open up my visual space and inspire it even though at times I can appreciate something minimalist such as your mascara art that I quite like very much :D

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
