How to style a faux leather coat in a casual way? Transitional item to have in one's closet #1 (outfit proposal of the day, #casual styling)

How to style a faux leather coat in a casual way? Here is my suggestion.  I paired this faux leather coat with a pink skirt and biker boots. Obviously, a faux leather coat makes for a good choice during the seasonal transitional period. Faux leather is lighter than leather, but it still provides warmth. Faux leather jackets are a wonderful option for the same reason. If it gets too hot and you want to take your jacket or coat off, it is always easier to carry around an item made of faux leather than real leather. Real leather is usually quite heavy, especially quality leather items.

As long as I'm trying to make a contribution to this topic, I might add that I like both the 'off the shoulder' coat and  'over the shoulder' trend. That is how I wore this faux leather coat, 'over the shoulders. Perhaps this trend doesn't work when it's extremely cold, I think it works best when weather becomes transitional. You can also do it when it's cold but you need to layer really well.

Some says these two trends are totally unpractical and ridiculous, but I think it depends on how you wear it. I'm not the type to go out of the house without a coat or a jacket, unless it's like 20 degrees Celsius outside. So, for me this trend works just fine. When I get too warm, I just throw my jacket/coat over my shoulders. I've done this sort of thing before, it is not like I'm doing it because it is trendy. Do you like these trends? What do you think about draping a jacket or a coat over the shoulders?

As far as the location is concerned, we're in Croatia again.  To be more precise, we're back in Split city. Beach Trstenik, only one bay away from marine Zenta that was featured in this post and only one bay away from bay Znjan (featured in this post). If I remember well, these photographs were taken in transition between Autumn to Winter, but I think this outfit works just as well when it comes to transition from Winter to Spring.

I didn't wear any make up, sorry but I'm kind of lazy that way. In addition, I don't plan outfit posts anymore, perhaps my blog is not so much focused on them anymore but anyhow I think there is enough of place for all of us in the blogging world, those of us who plan outfits and those who don't plan that much anymore. At the moment, I just have my photographs taken when I get the chance and share them when I remember to do it.

I don't know if you can tell that I look a bit different here, but in the case you can, I need to explain why I looked different that I usually do. When these photographs were taken,  I was underweight because of health problems (related to Chron's disease). In the meantime I've gained the 20 pounds I lost, so I'm back to my old weight again. My weight is normal now and I didn't experience any weight loss since my resection surgery at the end of 2017. I didn't buy any new clothes because I knew I will probably manage to return to my old weight if all goes well. A lot of people who suffer from Chron's disease struggle with weight loss, and sometimes there is nothing we can do about it. So, if you notice any weight changes, it's probably due to my health problems.

I feel like today we are under pressure to dislike our body no matter how it looks like, it's like we are encouraged to look for flaws in our appearance. I'm not giving in to that, I don't consider myself particularly beautiful but I honestly feel good in my skin. I try to keep fit and that's about it. I don't have a habit of examining myself looking for flaws as I don't see the point in that. I know who I am and it is not likely that I will ever valuate myself in such a physical way. Sure, I like to dress up and look fabulous, just as much as anyone with an interest in fashion, I see no harm in that and I think that fashion can actually be empowering but I can feel just as confident wearing a casual styling as a dressed up one. Fashion is a great way to have fun, though. I love seeing fashion forward outfits and sometimes I like to wear them too. I don't think one needs to look a particular way to have fun with fashion.

One thing that puzzles me for example, if when I hear people complain about having long hands, because why should that be a problem? I love having long hands! These things are so practicable. I can always reach everything. I can hug two people at once, hence avoiding the awkward social situations where it seems like you are giving a preference to just one person. Bottom line is that long hands can be fun. It's all how you look at it. For me, they are the best. Besides, almost all tall and tallish people have long hands. If you are tall, you are likely to have long extremities (meaning long hands and legs). When we are tall, we are tall because we have long extremities, it other words it's perfectly normal. So, all of you people who feel bad about it, don't. It's actually quite common. Almost all tall and tallish people are build that way.

God bless Mediterranean winters, I say. No matter the season, you can count of sunny and warm days. I have leaned to love sunny and cold days, but I have to admit that warm winter days have their perks. I guess that's one of the benefits of living in a Mediterranean climate. We have had a bit of cold recently, but with Spring arriving any moment, we are expecting a lot of sunny and warm days. Have you stared planning your Spring outfits? I have and it's been a lot of fun. I'm not planning to do any shopping this Spring, I think I will just shop my closet. I might buy something if I really like it, I'm not on a shopping ban or anything like that. I'm just not into shopping as much as some people are. As I said, I think there is a space for all of us in the blogging world, for shopaholics and for those who prefer shopping their closets. All approaches to personal style, including those in between, are interesting in their own way.

    Baci!

  4. I'm like you and I typically never leave the house without a jacket. A faux leather coat is such a wonderful transition piece because it works well to keep you warm and it can be versatile in that it can be easily dressed up or down. Fabulous styling and coat!

  6. I agree! So many people put too much pressure on themselves. We need to embrace with what we have. It's what makes us unique! I love your skirt. The color and style really look great on you Ivana. I haven't mastered wearing jackets & coats on the shoulders. People are starting to wear them that way.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
