January recap (my art & DIY & outfits)


I've had a lot of posting ideas this January. I think it has to do with the fact that I was away from blogging for so long.  Perhaps I was just eager to make up for the lost time. I didn't keep to a certain theme this January. I wrote a lot. I shared many paintings and illustrations. In addition, I also shared my outfits and even DIY projects. So, there was a bit of everything this month. However, that also means that I get to do a really fun January recap, so here we go.

I shared tons of my illustrations, drawings and painting this January and if all goes well you can expect the same in February. I already have some art on hold to share. I'm also planning to write more about my experience with art courses. Perhaps it is best to write one detailed post about it.

DIY POSTS

This January I shared two DIY posts. Both are quite easy and  are all about recycling. The first one is about making a white vase, the second one about turning a mason jar into a plaint container. I'd like to share more posts like this, where I teach you how to use acrylic paints for home projects. Acrylic paints are easy to use and they can be a lot of fun.

    I've always enjoyed your blog variety- the outfits, the places you visit, the beautiful paintings so do keep up the variety. I will go and read more about the chronic illness one because I would like to know more about that.

    Molto bello questo recap di Gennaio Ivana!
    Tra le illustrazioni le mie preferite sono quello con lo sfondo paesaggistico dietro, trovo che abbiano una marcia in più!
    Quanto ai libri (certo che riesci davvero a leggere un sacco!), tra quelli che hai elencato i miei preferiti sono Absalom Absalom e Città Invisibili (italo Calvino è uno dei miei autori preferiti in assoluto), alcuni non li conoscevo ma me li sono segnati così li cercherò!
    Infine, per gli outfit il mio peferito è il primo, sia per i colori che per le foto, sei davvero deliziosa (anche se continuo a pensare che forse quello che ti dona di più sia quello con la minigonna a righe)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. FORGIVENESS DAY BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND AN AUTUMN STYLING)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective.
