THE WORLD OF PENCIL (collaboration)/ SVIJET OLOVKE (suradnja)

This drawing is special because it was a collaboration between me and a two and a half year old baby girl. You  can see her drawing video here. Her hand coordination is quite remarkable for her age.Most kids that age can't even hold a pencil properly. I did most of the drawing obviously, but her contribution is pretty important.  If you look at that video carefully, you will see that she was actually trying to draw hair. She was drawing the hair in waves, meaning that she understood what the hair should look like. That just goes a way to prove you never know what kids are capable of if you don't give them the chance. I often let kids draw on my art. I think it's good to make them feel included in our daily activities. As you know if you follow this blog for a while, I have no kids of my own, but I often work with children.  Back to this drawing. I used a cover from Avon catalog cover as a reference for this drawing but I changed it up a bit. I made the fingers longer because...I'm not sure why. My husband says I always draw long fingers because my fingers are long.... I don't know, maybe that's that.

Ovaj crtež je poseban jer je napravljen u suradnji s djevojčicom koja ima dvije i pol godine. Možete vidjeti kratki video na kojem ona crta ovdje. Njena koordinacija ruke je odlična, čak i pomalo neobična za njenu dob. Većina djece te dobi ne može ni držati pravilno olovku. Očito sam ja nacrtala većinu toga, ali njen prilog je jako značajan. Pogledate li pažljivo video, vidjeti ćete da je pokušavala crtati kosu.  Ona je crtala kosu u valovima. To samo dokazuje da nikada ne znate za što su djeca sposobna ako im ne date priliku. Ja često puštam djecu da crtaju po mojim slikama. Mislim da je dobro kada se djeca osjećaju uključenima u naše dnevne aktivnosti. Kao što znate ako pratite ovaj blog neko vrijeme, ja nemam djece, ali često radim sa djecom. Natrag na temu crteža. Koristila sam naslovnicu Avona  kao referencu za ovaj crtež, ali napravila sam neke izmjene. Napravila sam crte dužima jer...nisam sigurna zašto. Moj muž uvijek kaže da crtam duge prste jer imam duge prste...Ne znam, možda je stvarno to u pitanju.

    Beautiful and fun collaboration, Ivana. That face reminds me of someone, if only I know who, some actress, but I don't know who, maybe some b/w movie star? Anyway, you did again an amazing job on the drawing, although you should not draw or paint at the moment, Ivana. RSI is a serious injury and the more you paint, the worse it gets. Your first priority now is to rest. You have to stopo doing whatever caused the problem in the first place, Ivana. Anyway hope you hands gets better pretty soon.

In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own.
