Happy Women's Day! Sretan dan žena!

To all you beautiful girls and women out there, I wish a happy Women's Day! I know I'm a bit late, it already being evening and all, but it is still not too late so I'm taking this opportunity to wish you all the best. I love being a woman. As Oriana Fallaci said, being a woman is so fascinating. Being a women often comes with its a set of challenges, but it also has its perks. Isn't it so? I sometimes feel like we have special powers. Maybe it is just me, but I do believe in certain female powers, for example feminine intuition. 

Today I'm sharing a watercolour painting with you that I find quite inspiring (if you don't mind me describing my own painting in that way). It seems suitable to post it today.  Thank you so much for all your lovely comments and support. Maybe I don't say this often enough, but I really do really appreciate the time you take to stop by this little place of my own.

Svim predivnim  djevojkama, djevojčicama i ženama, želim sretan dan žena! Znam da je već pomalo kasno, već je večer, ali još nije prekasno tako da uzimam priliku da vam poželim sve najbolje. Volim biti žena. Kao što je Oriana Fallaci rekla, biti žena je tako zanimljivo. Biti žena često nosi niz izazova, ali ima i svojih prednosti. Zar nije tako? Ponekad mi se čini da imamo posebne moći. Možda sam samo ja u pitanju, ali doista vjerujem u neke ženske moći, na  primjer žensku intuiciju. 

Danas sa vama dijelim akvarel koji mi je poprilično nadahnjujući (ako to smijem reći za vlastitu sliku). Čini mi se prikladnim objaviti ju danas. Hvala vam puno na svim divnim komentarima i podršci. Možda to ne govorim dovoljno često, ali doista cijenim vrijeme koje uzmete da posjetite ovo moje malo virtualno mjesto.

    Happy International Women's Day Ivana! :) I took part in the #dayWithoutAWoman strike (as much as I could as I care for the boys) and I wore red, it was good to celebrate and stand with other women. Like you said, there are a lot of positives to being a woman! :)

    Your red-haired lady looks very powerful, dear Ivana - ideed a good drawing for the Women's Day! Most of the time I also enjoy it to be a woman - but I don't always enjoy what the world still is doing to women... They are still being oppressed, they are still subjected to violence, women are paid less for the same work, etc. And this, although we call our time progressive ... So there's still a lot to change, I think...

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective.
