Ducks and Mostar / Patke i Mostar


If you suffer from a bird phobia, you might want to skip this post. There will be birds in this one, mainly ducks. If you don't like ducks, by all means don't scroll down.  There are more photos of ducks than of myself in this post. What can I do? I love ducks. They seem to be more photogenic than me. The same applies for this city. Isn't Mostar extremely photogenic? It is one of the most photogenic cities that I know. These photographs were actually taken last year, but you will forgive me. 

Bojite li se ptica, možda vam je bolje da preskočite ovu objavu. Biti će ptica, većinom patki. Ako ne volite patke, nemojte gledati ove fotografije. Zapravo ima više slika od patki nego od mene u ovoj objavi. Što mogu? Volim patke. Čini mi se da su fotogeničnije od mene same. Isto   vrijedi i za sam grad. Zar nije Mostar fotogeničan? Meni se čini da je jedan od najfotogeničnijih gradova koje poznajem. Ove su fotografije uslikane prošle godine, ali ćete mi oprostiti.

    I do have bird phobia but it's mainly for pigeons because I think they're disgusting and disease ridden creatures. I don't mind ducks and will even feed them when I see some at the park. These ducks look like they're having fun. And your'e just as photogenic as them :)

    Patke su medene i ja ih se svakako ne plašim :D Kad su ptice u pitanju, jedino se plašim npr. kad su golubovi na gomili i lete u svim pravcima, ali i to je više refleks nego pravi strah. Nema veze što su slike od ranije, lepo je nekada i podsetiti se tako nekog dana i na neki način oživeti ga, pa makar virtuelno :)

      i ja mislim da je to refleks. Golubovi su u biti jako brzi i agilni letači pa nam se često čini da će doći do sudara između nas, čak i kada nema opasnosti od toga.

      that's interesting...and it makes sense. Butterflies are basically bugs and lots of people are afraid of bugs.

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective.
